With the New Year upon us, I thought it would be fun to have a thread where everyone can share all the places you're traveling to in 2017. I'll get it started.

Aside from work travel and the occasional road trip to Vermont, Maine, or Rhode Island, I've already got trips scheduled for:

Las Vegas (never been - going to the Consumer Electronics Show to nerd out a bit)
Cuba (just found out about this one - Christmas gift from the SO)
Bali (honeymoon)

Also, not planned yet because I'm waiting for a sale on flights that comes around every summer, but when it does I'm hoping to schedule a trip to Iceland. It's only a 2-3 hour direct flight so it would be an easy 3 day weekend trip.

@ some point in time, just for fun:

Jasper (never been)
Yellowstone
Portland, OR & Oregon Coast
Bend, OR (never been)
Sandpoint, ID (never been)
Kimberley, BC
Missoula
Seattle
Craters of the Moon (never been)

Maybe Michigan (family)

And I most likely will be moving out of Montana once my Glacier gig ends in October. Where to, I have no idea yet.

Some good places there.

I've never been to the PNW and I'm really wanting to go.

I am seriously curious - what exactly does a "glacier gig" entail?

I'm planning on Memphis/St. Louis in April. Going see the Grizzlies, Cardinals and Blues while there.
Houston in July for bachelor party.
Hawaii and San Francisco for honeymoon in August.
Knoxville in November for LSU game.

Either Minnesota or Buffalo for a Saints away game as well.

Not my usual travel plans, trust me. But I'm really looking forward to going to Bali - I plan on taking plenty of pictures to bring back to the TB.

There are tons of cool places in the northern Rockies, places you've never heard of that are worth exploring. Lots of good mountain towns also with great rec opportunities.

One of the more surprising towns I've been through was Winthrop, WA east of the North Cascades. The place is a secret western tourist town.

I've heard nothing but good things. It's just so far from Boston that flights are insanely expensive. And as much as I do want to go, it's hard to justify a 6 hour flight when I can get to Europe in 4 or 5.

Hoping to go to three different out-of-state ski trips.

SLC/Park City
Jackson Hole
Bozeman

As well as a few inside Colorado ski trips. But those would more likely be sleeping in my car a night or two rather than a real trip.

Leaving my job in January with plans to travel but don't know where or how long yet. Chances are I'll backpack in SE Asia or South America during winter. I'd also love to spend time in the parks out west... Will be seeking out advice from the board in a separate thread here soon.

PNW - what kind of job did you land with the NPS? Would love to work as guide or in the outdoors in some capacity before I return to the corporate world (if I do return).

Jan: flying to DC on inauguration day for my wife's birthday. Was just an accident really but hoping it will be interesting.

March: New Orleans for a wedding. With people we know there from our time living there this will be frequent

May: Seaside. Wife's parents rent a big beach house from time to time. I don't pay for shite except travel so I don't complain.

July: Heading to Machu Picchu and back over 4th of July weekend

August: Philadelphia for a wedding. Never been.

Hazy holiday plans. I get way more vacation than my wife so I may hit up a rollercoaster park or some shite

I don't consider skiing every weekend a trip, so I'll leave those out.

5 nights in Manual Antonio, Costa Rica (wedding), March/April

2 nights in Orlando (wedding), April

4 nights in Gulf Shores at Hangout Fest, May

aTm @ UCLA

aTM @ UF

Those are the for sure trips of 2017 thus far. I'm sure more will be added as the year goes on.

Points yes, all on one ticket - probably not. United change its routing rules and Australia/NZ are a different zone than Oceania (cooks/fiji/tahiti etc), so they will all price as multiple one-ways instead of stopo-over.

Depending on what miles I use, I may stick around Oceania and do 2 of those (UA) or carry on to Australia/NZ (AS). So far all I know is that I'll need to get real creative with this trip.
