Ouray or Estes if you don’t necessarily want to ski.

Man... we went to a wedding in Vail in early December last year. The heated brick-paved streets combined with a good snowfall that had all the trees covered in powder pillows was pretty magical. Like... almost not real and looked like a Hallmark movie.

Not sure what other resorts have heated sidewalks/streets, but it was pretty amazing.

Fly into Denver and rent a car. Seriously. The only way that sucks, generally, is if you end up having to drive up I70 in Friday afternoon traffic.

Of course, we have direct flights to Denver from NWA, but we ended up with WAY less travel time by flying into Denver and driving up to Vail than people who flew into Eagle for the same wedding (no direct flights and actually ended up getting rerouted). It was also quite a bit cheaper (we were splitting car rental with another couple, though).

Yeah flights are already booked from Nola to Denver. Can’t beat those direct flights . Breckenridge is a little shorter drive than vail . Just trying to figure out between the 2 .

I found them to be very different. Breck seems more eclectic and Vail more posh. We enjoyed them both but for different reasons.

Breck is small compared to Vail. They are both great, but we like Breckenridge best.

I’d go if you went to Seattle and then day tripped out to Leavenworth. I wasn’t super impressed with the town. But that’s just me.

I have heard the drive to Leavenworth can be daunting if you are not used to mountain and snow driving.

It’s not that bad. But I am a horrible reference. I am a psycho and chase large snow storms to ski in and have my rig outfitted to do so The sketchier the more thrilling.

Headed to Park City Dec 21st. Went 2 years ago and loved it. We want to try Crested Butte next.

Christmas and new years weeks are the most expensive time of year to ski, so…if you just want snow I wouldn’t go to a ski town personally…there’s tons of places in the Rockies that will have snow but are not ski towns. Also plenty of places in say the northeast or Midwest that you could most likely see snow. But it looks like you are going to Denver.

Have done both a few times and prefer Breck/Frisco
