3 year old - taking her to an Astros game for a spur of the moment weekend trip. Not married to being necessarily close to Minute Maid, but the Marquis does look cool. Or would the Westheimer hotels/ Galleria Westin with mall, ice skating and restaurants be more recommended?

If you just coming for a weekend and for the Astros game, stay at the Marquis. Kid will love the lazy river.

You can have a few drinks while the kids wears himself out without leaving the hotel.

You are 10 minutes from children's museum if that becomes an interest. And don’t go to the Galleria unless you hate yourself.

i do hate myself. Not ONLY for Astros game but we like catching a baseball game or two each summer and the timing just worked out suddenly. Wife has never been to Houston so also wanted to let her see a little bit of the city (even though it’s no real destination or anything, we still like seeing new places so looking for a good recommendation for that but keeping a 3 year old in mind)

Quick in and out trip last year, me and my son stayed at the Hampton Inn right there by Minute Maid as well. Super easy to get in and out. If looking for Pool, its on about the 5th or 8th floor and nice. Prob half the price of the Marquis.

But, as far as convenience to get in and out at the game pretty ideal.

Decided on the Marriott Marquis. Still want to see other areas, maybe Westheimer area. Any suggestions on where to eat out that way one evening? Pappasito’s?

We usually eat at Guadalajara Mexican Grille off of SW Freeway. It’s always a solid Tex-Mex meal.
If you are looking for something fun to do, we took our 3 year old to the Color Factory last week and had a great time.

I think y'all will enjoy the Marriott Marquis. What do you want to see on Westheimer and what part? It goes a long way.

You can do better than Pappasito's. I know so many love it, but I like El Tiempo or better yet, go to the original Ninfas on Navigation.

That’s a very long street. Not really an area. For instance, Seismique is really cool and just off Westheimer, but probably 25 miles from your hotel.

If you are looking for beef fajitas I would go to Lupe tortilla over the other two people mention, el tiempo and ninfas.

Last time i ate at el tiempo the fajita meat tasted like hot dog water. It was fricking weird.

Lupe Tortilla is garbage…you people need to get help.

Here is the Inner Loop Tex Mex Hierarchy:
1A. El Tiempo
1B. Candente
2. Goode Company Kitchen and Cantina…technically outside the loop in Memorial
3. Superica
4. Little Pappasito’s
5. OG Ninfa’s…but only for the seafood tacos…redfish, bacon wrapped shrimp, octopus…everything else at Ninfa’s is bland…her grandson’s joints are better

I would never recommend Lupe’s to visitors but it isn’t “garbage”. It would be the best Tex-Mex place in BR or NOLA.

It’s a bit funny your continued hatred of Lupe’s. When was the last time you went?

Another vote for El Tiempo… In fact, about to head there right now.

Either that or Ninfas on Navigation. They did open a second original Ninfas near the galleria, but don’t know how good it is.

IMO, Papasitos is way overrated and their best one is the one in Hobby Airport

Papasito's and el tiempo are gross.

Lupe's is great for fajitas, but thats about it.

Guadalajara on 59 near Kirby is head and shoulders above all of the previously mentioned tex-mex restaurants.
