What airline? If Southwest, arrive at least 2 hrs before flight, even that early in the am. The line to check baggage will be 45mins to an hour.

This is true because they will have maybe two people working at baggage check at that hour.

Some of the worst lines are early in the AM. Between baggage check and TSA lines backing up waiting for the agents to show up for their shift

I’d definitely get there about 2 hours early.

Terminal C has been having extremely long security lines lately. I wouldn’t want to risk it.

If you have precheck, you should be fine getting there an hour before flight.

I personally have never had it take longer than 20-30 minutes for AA at MSY.

But I'm always there at least 90 minutes prior regardless because I am a worrier when it comes to travel.

I walked by Terminal C last Thursday, and it was one of the worst lines I've seen at it.

You’ll have a little more wiggle room with AA as they aren’t nearly as busy as SW. I’d still say arrive at the airport by 4am only because that’s prob one of the busiest days at MSY the entire year.

This is where “about 3:50” actually applies

I love flying out of Nola early in the morning, I always choose the 5-6am flights. It usually has fewer people and I get to the airport about an hour to an hour and a half early
