What is the difference between these sites? Does one have lower fees than the others?

Look at the total price with all fees. I have never used Home Away, but I have found VRBO cheaper sometimes and Airbnb cheaper sometimes. It just depends on the property

They all have fees. What I have found works best, for like beach condos at least, is finding the place on VRBO and then googling the address. You'll almost always be able to find the property listed on a realtor website for rent without any fees. The condo we booked for May (fingers crossed) was about $300 cheaper doing it that way.

www.bookdirect.ly

You enter the VRBO or Airbnb URL and it emails you the website to book it directly if available.

There's some places that only list on Airbnb because they pay the sales tax, so the owner's don't have to. One less hassle for them.

Had an AirBnB host decline my request for a refund in May in Barcelona. This morning he sent me a message completing changing his stance. I’m guessing it was Airbnb new policy that made him change his mind.

Glad to hear that you’re getting your refund. I’m an ABB fan, and that was going to change If they disallowed cancellations in the face of transportation upheaval and uncertainty regarding borders.

Foreign airlines are the next on my list. Let’s see how Iberia, Aeromexico and BA handle my requests. I’ve been leaving them alone because I’m still pretty far out and I know others have more pressing needs.

I still have one Airbnb owner that hasn’t agreed to a full refund. I’ll wait her out.

Yeah if you don't give a refund you can't rebook the dates. Airbnb would have likely offered you a refund for that time period. Therefore you would have been given a refund, this likely allows him the possibility to rebook.

I had a guest tell me she booked through Airbnb, and she was initially told she’d only receive a 50% refund. But that quickly changed to a full refund, as it should be.

Update....Evolve has reversed course and is now only offering credit for a future rental within the next 12 months. They previously agreed to give customers displaced by virus problems a full refund.

That’s bullshite.

AirBNB is offering full refunds if you can't make your trip due to the virus.
VBRO is only refunding 50% from what I've read....

Kinda shitty as it isn't the choice for many people to cancel, they're being forced to do it.
