If you watch Faux News then yes. If you actually go there, its a great city.

As in nasty, hygenically. It’s a gross place these days. Like the French’s Quarter without the party atmosphere

You should have quit while you were behind.

I watch LCI news by and large. I have to go to SF about 3 times a year. It’s getting worse. Still lots to do there, and lots of fancy stuff, but nastier as time goes by.

No. Our cities are going to shite, I’m happy to call them out.
Posted on 4/24/19 at 3:48 pm to LoneStarRanger
I too am out there often and I don't see anything I don't see in any other big city.
Posted on 4/24/19 at 3:58 pm to Zappas Stache
Yes, they are all getting bad. I travel mostly for work, return to many of the same places, see the changes. It’s happening.
NYC under Giuliani/Bloomberg was much better
SF under Newsome was much nicer, cleaner
Philly under Street was better
Houston under Bill White
Many of our cities are devolving after numerous years (90s/00s) of progress
However, there’s been new rising stars that have continued progress. Richmond, Charleston, Nashville, Boise, And others.
And those places offer something radically different than NYC/Philly/Boston which share almost all the same characteristics except for accents and some other stuff

Ok, well no one is changing your mind. You’re entitled to your opinion, so please feel free to no longer visit any of the cities you don’t like going to.
All I can tell kimtown is to go wherever they would like regardless of what random people on the Internet think, and those of us here that want to give advice on those places will do so.

Would love that. Have to for work.

Ah yes if it doesn’t fit into your worldview then it’s invalid. Stfu
Also, you are in fact, a random person on the internet giving advice. Hypocrite
And kimtown never said only upbeat/positive advice with no differing opinions. You’re a piece of work

I live in Buffalo, don't come to Niagara. Not really worth it and it's a massive tourist trap. Plus, it's still pretty nasty here. It's 40 degrees now and will likely still be in the 50s without much sun until mid May.

Except Abita has a long track record of giving good advice on Boston and New England based on testimony from other posters including myself.

You realize I gave solicited advice about a city they specifically asked for, right? And you just shite on those cities and gave unsolicited suggestions of other places to go?
I may or may not be a piece of work, but if you can’t distinguish between those two things, you’re certainly an idiot.
So I would, in turn, ask that you be the one to shut the frick up.

With your 8/10hr drive limit, you could pretty much go anywhere in New England. New England (especially Boston and Philadelphia (not really part of New England)) will have plenty of historical landmarks since both are integral to the founding of the country.
- Portland, Maine and the Maine coast up to Bar Harbor (Acadia National Park) are nice. Portland has good breweries and a good restaurants for a smaller size city.
- Cape Cod is couple hours drive (you can also ferry to Provincetown from Boston), Martha's Vinyard and Nantucket are a ferry rides from the southern shores of Cape Cod.
- Vermont, New Hampshire and Western Massachusetts have a lot of very scenic areas too, if that is an interest.
- Newport, Rhodes Island - Couple hours south of Boston is filled to Mansions of the rich and famous when it was summer play ground of New York Cities elite in 1800 & early 1900's.
- If you drive to Niagara you'll pass close or through the Finger Lakes, Catskills and Adirondacks, depending on your route.

They asked for any other places, I gave them, all the while giving my two cents on other places. Not unsolicited especially on a public board
Stop getting your panties in a wad from people with differing opinions.
Poor Abita fan is butthurt because someone doesn’t think San Francisco is the absolute best!!! And they think NYC/Boston/Philly are similar!!!! OMG! Just stfu and go about your day.

Do you honestly think that between the two of us, I'm the one acting like my "panties are in a wad"?
Also, where did I say San Francisco was the best?
And I even told you I've heard that Philly is fairly similar to Boston (never been to Philly, so no personal opinion there), but if you think Boston and New York are similar I don't know what to tell you. I love Boston, but it's no New York.

Please stop feeding the troll. He tipped his hand when he suggested Colonial Williamsburg to someone exploring America for the first time.
