The wife and I are headed to Vegas, for a few days (Thur AM to Sat night late).

What are some of the good places to eat and shows to see while we are there? What are your can't miss while in Vegas?

TIA.

Fremont Street...one of the better shows in Vegas

Love Fremont street. I just got back and one of my favorite places is batistas. It’s an old school Italian place that is very reasonable in price. It’s become kind of a tradition between me and my friends everytime we go to Vegas

I love high end steakhouses, so places like Prime (Bellagio) and SW (Wynn) are what I enjoy. As for shows, Absinthe (Caesars Palace) is my favorite but it’s not for everyone.

If your wife loves Celine, pony up the $ and go. Absinthe is fantastic, but very raunchy humor. Loved O and Ka (Cirque).

Had a great meal at Wolfgang Puck at shops at Caesars. The view at Rivea (Delano at Mandalay Bay) is spectacular.

I also recommend going to Freemont St. I would go at night. Live bands and a ton going on.
As for shows, I would go see Beatles Love. It was awesome.

2 excellent recommendations. I’d lean slightly towards Prime for a romantic date with the wife. If you and the wife would prefer a slightly “hipper” vibe, try strip steak (mandalay) or Gordon Ramsay steak (Paris).

What type of food do you like and/or want? I’m Cuban and have been going to the Florida Cafe since it opened. It is the best Cuban food outside of Hialeah you will find (probably equally as good TBH). Now don’t get scared of its location. It’s ghetto as shite I acknowledge and the Howard Johnson it’s in is sketchy (I think the motel name is now Shalimar). Trust me you need to eat there if you enjoy Cuban food.

That's the place between the north end no man's land and downtown?

I would suggest Top of the World for dinner one night...

Were up for just about any and all food.

I have been to some taco joints in some shady places here in Dallas. So ghetto places don't really bother me.

We are trying to decide either Caesars or MGM.

Just an FYI, mgm, while extremely lively, attracts a ghetto and trashy crowd.

It’s basically where all the people that can’t afford aria, Cosmo and Wynn go.

Between those two I would definitely choose Caesars Palace. Caesars is right in the middle of the strip. MGM is too big plus it is on the far end. Lots of walking.

You can then hop across and stay a night at the High Hat Recency Motel.

People watching in that area is fascinating. Haha

A thousand times no. Easily one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Completely overrated.

I'd tend to agree with this, but wouldn't say it's horrible. It's just awfully expensive for slightly above average beef. Typical Vegas hustle.
