Welp, looks like a direct hit is imminent. Hopefully there is no loss of like there. Going to start looking around for other places to go. Is there anywhere in the tropics that will be worth going to after this storm?

This looks really bad for TCI. The airport is prone to flooding anyway, so I can't imagine what all the rain and storm surge will do to it.

Hoping for the best for all though. Very nice people on that island

Storm should be well passed TC now. I'm hoping to see some updates soon.

Haven't heard or seen much. They caught the NW eyewall. I'm sure it is not good. Haven't cancelled our trip yet. What are ya'll gonna do?

Haven't cancelled. Still wait and see.
Of course I want to call hotel asap. but I am reluctant to bother them right now. I'll probably wait to see what information is released on it and maybe call mid/late next week.

Grace bay club doesn't look too bad from the building itself. I'm just not sure they will get it all cleaned up by November. It took Baton Rouge months to get over its flood and it had interstate infrastructure. Not island infrastructure.

Looks like it's best just to go in a future year where it's all been remade.

Yea we will probably just go ahead and plan something else but make a point to go back when they are up and running again.

From what I read on the tripadvisor forum, it doesn't look as bad as expected.

The video doesn't look as bad as I would have thought from what we saw, there might be hope for the TC vacation in Nov, a lot less palm trees though.

We were just there in May. A few of the buildings that were "damaged" in those videos were structures that abandoned construction or were in the process.

Seems like a lot of the locals will "build" a two story structure and only finish out the first floor.

Are y'all considering going in November? We haven't made a decision yet.

i have been to provo a lot. they get some tax incentive to build multi floor buildings, so that that they say they are doing then dont finish the 2nd flood. most buildings there have unfinished columns with rebar sticking out.

i actually rode out Bertha in provo.

I really hope these two get to go if they can. It's the ultimate do nothing spot! The water is blue the services is great, and no intrusions.

I tried calling Sands at Grace Bay yesterday and couldn't get anyone. Going to keep calling them to see when their expected reopening will be.

Waves as high as 6 metres (20ft) were expected on Friday in the Turks and Caicos, where communications went down as the storm hit the islands, leaving the extent of the devastation unclear.

You might need to show some patience. They're hurting down there. We are still having a difficult time getting in touch with friends in the USVI and BVI. TCI got hit pretty damned hard as well.
