Gotta see the British Museum

While I truly loved the British Museum, I takes a lot of time. It's huge! You need to figure out what parts to see or you can do a lot of aimless wandering.

If you don't have much time, you might choose other things.

Also, I loved Tower of London, but the lines there are very long. Get there early!

Don't assume that things are open crazy long hours like the US.

And don't forget to mind the gap!

Did it on the Eurostar. Lot's fun. We spent 5 days in Paris and 5 in London. Easy trip, they handle your luggage like an airport, and customs is easy.

Day trip is tough but worth if you have a few days.
This is exactly what we're doing, 5 days in London and then 5 days in Paris.

I wish I had spent more time at Westminster Abby.

Climb to the top of St Paul’s - pretty cool.

If your lady is with you, Ritz afternoon tea….or Savoy.

Go check out house of lords and House of Commons in the evening - the lords were drunk!

as mentioned earlier absolutely get he citymapper app on your phone. It makes getting around London super easy. We used the tube, train, buses, uber boat all because of this.

Do not buy an oyster card. Just make sure your phone is set up(apple pay) or credit cards are set up for contactless touch pay. All tube stops, buses use this (look for the yellow circle to pay). There is never a need to buy an oyster card.

YOU just touch the yellow circle when you are entering the tube station ad leaving your destination station. for bus you just touch upon entering.

MAROON, thanks for the tip on the citymapper. I lived in London about 15 years ago but haven’t been back to visit in about a decade. I’m heading there this week for the North London Derby and was going to just use an Oyster card like usual, but I just downloaded the citymapper app.

It seems very user friendly, and I’m also bringing some friends who’ve never been to London, so I want to ride the bus with them as much as possible, because riding the bus in London rocks and it allows you to see more of the city as you move around (more than the tube anyway), and this seems like the best method for mapping out bus routes.

it is. I was just there two weeks ago. My daughter lives there and that was the first thing she made all of us do was download that app. By day 2 I was going all over town without her having to show me where to catch a bus, or what trains to use, etc.

also if you decide to head to Greenwich I highly suggest taking the Uber boat back just to see London from the Thames. Hint - buy your ticket using the Uber app - its cheaper than at the dock. actually you can catch the uber boat anytime you want for a cheap tour up or down the Thames.

Its kinda odd, but I'm a big American Revolution history guy. I took like 3 laps through the entire Abbey looking for John Andre. I finally found him behind a roped off area. I was so proud of myself
