Gonna have six days with no accommodations booked yet so very open. So far planning for one day in Seattle and one day in Leavenworth. Recommendations for spending the other 4 days outside of Seattle?

Big wine people? Woodinville has chateau st Michele (probably misspelled) and a bunch of other wineries. Boeing flight museum. Skiing might be open by then at Crystal or another local mountain. Drive up to Bellingham and hang out near the water for a day?

Great choice. It should be decorated and beautiful.

This isn’t going to help you much, but I hear there’s some beautiful area in Western Washington. I’ve been to Seattle but wasn’t able to get outside of the city. I’d love to go explore any national park or coastal area.

We did a ferry boat to Victoria, Canada. Our first time in Canada. We enjoyed seeing the city but it’s nothing outstanding.

Friend,

I love Christmas, but Leavenworth was a letdown for me. Coastal trip through Olympia and down to Astoria means you won’t get snowed in, and it is always a great trip.

The North Cascades are deep in snow by then. Mt Rainier could be okay, but the climbing is going to require ice gear even at lower elevations like Skyline Trail. The lodge has a famous Thanksgiving meal so that is an idea. I would call ahead to ensure reservations are open.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

if it were me I’d book a room with beach view at kalaloch lodge and see the sights around there. It’s among the most beautiful places I’ve ever been

I'd spend a day on Orcas Island. Leave Seattle for Anacortes by 6am because you want to use all the daylight you can get which won't be much. The weather is usually pretty dismal that week, so you'll have that going for you also.

Victoria, BC is great and I highly recommend it - Butchart Gardens is amazing.

Spending a couple of days on the Olympic Peninsula is beautiful, but if the weather is bad, your views may not be great.

Port Townsend is gorgeous. Whale watching my be fun, but it might be cold and wet.

I had a great time in Leavenworth for Thanksgiving in 2018. The town was lit up with Christmas lights and we got some snow, so it was beautiful. Warning - not a lot of restaurants are open on Thanksgiving, but that's okay - we ate at a German place and the food was great. We had a good time at the Reindeer farm and took a walk along the river.

Astoria is a neat town - Fort George Brewery is amazing - both the beer and the food.

If you go that far, i would take the trip down to Cannon Beach and go to Ecola St Park. The scenery looking down the beach is incredible.
