SO and I are taking a Florida beach trip this summer, and leaning toward 30A. Not familiar w the area and have no clue where to stay, condo vs house vs cottage vs hotel, etc. have also considered Navarre but have been there before and want to try somewhere new. I am on VRBO and see lots of cottages and back houses, but don’t know if this is where I should be looking. Any advice is appreciated as to where to look/what kind of place to look for on 30A.

We plan to mostly hangout on the beach, go out to eat, and cook at the place a night or 2. No kids and likely just us 2. Thanks in advance

I’d look at a guest/back house in Seaside unless you need an ocean view from the room. There are also cottages right off the square in Seaside. Not super nice but fine and easy walk wherever.

If I'm going to the beach, I want to wake up with a view of the beach. And if I'm going to the beach, I don't want to have to drag my stuff 1/4 mile to get there. Really between Santa Rosa, Blue Mountain, Rosemary, etc., just depends on how much activity you want. Blue Mt. is pretty low-key, more restaurants further east.

Agree completely about waking up with a view and not dragging stuff a long way. Just want a good view and easy beach access, with some ability to have restaurants within driving distance

If you don’t have kids I would highly suggest going in early to mid May or mid to late august. Prices skyrocket when kids are in school plus it will be quieter. Late April and early May and September are the best times of year on 30a outside of a warm winter weekend.

30a is great. That being said it is mostly families. You may like Henderson Park Inn. It’s an adults only resort near Sandestin which is a short drive to 30a

You should ditch 30a and try Anna Maria Island

If I had no kids on 30A, I’d be all over the Pearl in Rosemary Beach. Going to seem like a high cost up front, but once you consider a pool with no kids and being like 100 yards from the beach, you’ll net out good in the end.

Its not secret bro. Trust me. My shop is 1 mile down Cortez road. The traffic this time of year is legendary

Check out Eden Condominiums. The pool is great and has several waterfalls. Perdido/Key and Orange Beach area may be more appealing for a couple. The Flora Bama is a stone's throw from Eden. You can also go to Rosy O'Grady's in Pensacola easily.

I know it’s not a well guarded secret. Been going down that way for a couple decades. Love it! Even with the traffic.

Anyone been to dune allen? Was recommended to me because of easy and less crowded beach access

If it's just the wife and I, I like the carriage houses that you can get in Rosemary Beach (check VRBO), south of 30A. They are usually set up like 1 bedroom apartments (but are standalone) with full kitchens if you want to cook any meals there. Also super convenient to the beach, shopping, restaurants, etc...

Skip 30A. Indian Rocks Beach or south in Amila island around Sarasota

As noted, VRBO or Airbnb best option
