Sobering look at the future of air travel. Typically New Orleans to Orlando or Tampa would be between $49 to $89 one way.

Just looked, lowest Orlando rate was $103 one way and lowest Tampa rate was $151 one way!! Weird considering Tampa is 15 minutes closer in terms of travel time.

I agree though, they are trying to screw everyone who has cancelled trips and have travel credits. Luckily the travel credits are good until September 7th, 2022.

Sadly most Americans are going to be looking at a lot more driving trips in the future.

They increased prices back to what it was before. Last month I got 4 flights to New Orleans for Saints games in Sept & Oct for $89 each round trip. Now Nov/Dec is running $253.00 round trip at the cheapest. Great.

If you've got points with SW, there's some solid deals. I was able to book 3 RT tickets, MSY-SLC, for 42kpoints

It looks like the dollar value of points went down too.

Everyone will be fine in getting cheap fares, they aren't even posting the fall deals yet let alone thanksgiving or christmas. Hell, they're still having summer deals for flights 2-4 weeks out

Anyone flown SWA in the past couple of weeks? Looking to take a quick trip up to Chicago to see some friends and want to know my chances of it getting canceled last min...either way it’s not a big deal.

Flew last weekend. You have to wear a mask. They board you in groups of 10 now so it takes awhile to board. I was on a 2 1/2 hour flight so we got a canned water with a straw & a package of snacks. I don't know if they give you that on shorter flights.

Thanks for the response. It looks like the only restrictions from Louisiana are into Arkansas and Florida right now.

Definitely trying to frick everyone with credits. I’ll be waiting to book last minute. I fly often enough that if they want to keep prices high for a a year or so I can ride it out, they gave us 2 years on our credit.

I went ahead and booked Halloween and Christmas trips. I have a CP so it makes even stupid prices seem OK.

Will check back to see if I can save money later.

Just rebooked flights in August, Halloween, and Christmas and shaved $600 from when these flights posted.

Will keep checking.

If anyone is wondering, I booked these with credits I already had, so they just keep rolling on. Since my wife is my Companion, this has generated so many damn emails
