Any info on other airlines doing anything similar? Is this just temporary or a scaling back from Nola slowly for long term financial reasons?

Southwest has been plagued with delays because they haven't had the staff to run their operations smoothly this summer. They pledged to cut way back over the next couple of months so they don't continue to have tons of flights delayed/canceled.

So, I think most of this is temporary.

First I'm hearing this. I haven't had any issue on SW, now I've had delays on United and have heard the horror stories of American

Southwest refunded my flights. Gonna slum it on Spirt and come back on Frontier. Not ideal, but it beats driving.

Nice...I tried to Karen my way into some travel funds or even an upgrade to business select and sticking with them and driving all the way to Houston, they declined to budge. I cancelled, got a refund and booked with American.

It probably would have cost me $150+ in gas, food, to drive to Houston so that basically is being put into baggage fees and such and the fares were within $20 of each other so it's basically just a wash for me too except we get there earlier, get home earlier and don't have to drive 5+ hours each way

This is crazy. It is getting harder and harder to live in New Orleans.

I mean, you can practically drive to NO from most cities in the amount of time it takes you to get from airport to rental car center now

NO airport has skyrocketed to one of the worst airports for a business traveler with that clusterfrick.

I'm A-List Preferred. They have canceled one leg of 2 trips I have over the next month. Didnt rebook me. Didnt even call. When I went to re-book, they said there's nothing available. I've been on the phone with SW for over 6 hours over the past 5 days. As of September 1, their Customer Service no longer accepts phone calls. I even had one extremely rude SW supervisor hang up on me after I'd been on the phone over an hour.

I'm done. 15 years I've tried to fly nothing but Southwest.

What do you mean they don't accept phone calls?

I mean, when you say "I'd like to speak with Customer Service" they will tell you that they no longer accept phone calls. Then you'll get a form email from them later saying how sorry they are for your inconvenience. Total chickenshit

Why are you checking a bag for a trip to Cancun? You can easily fit all of your shite into a carry on.

If you can avoid checking a bag for international travel, do it.

You called the executive office about a flight? And someone helped you?

Its a semi business trip with a few events we need to attend requiring certain business attire. With the wife and I, we both can't fit all we need in backpacks and carry-ons
