You want me to keep letting you know if and when a seat pops up? Might be a bit repetitive with posts but can at least get you and your wife on the same flight.

Appreciate ya, Cuse. Think I’m just gonna call it and hold off until i can get to a phone charger to keep trying.

Wife been in hold for 2+ hours. Some determination in her.

. I'll post the time in central time that I find a seat (if I find one) in a post on here. Determined wife, props to her!

I'll go do some running around now (grocery shopping) and check back in here in a bit

I'm on flight 3484 from MCO to MSY. I've already been bumped from 9:40 pm to 11:40 pm. Am I spending the night in the Orlando airport? If so, think I can get out tomorrow morning first thing? It's me, the wife and two kids.

I hope not, so far so good besides the delay. I'm thinking all they did was change the inbound aircraft from a cancelled flight to one getting in later at night. They must have a crew otherwise it would've been cancelled already

Anyone planning flying southwest out of MCO, understand there is a huge line at checkin filled with people switching flights

This was 30 mins ago

If you can, use the checkin outside, theres no line and can handle just about everything for you... they work on tips just fyi

Thanks for the heads up. I just looked at moving to the 7:35 flight that is still on time, but it's booked. Will prba ly just do a late dinner at the airport and then try and kill a few hours in the lounge. Can't get too tipsy, bc I have to drive back to BR.

Cuse, I found a couple AA seats open for $178 a pop. Flight is at 3:43pm fingers crossed. Found them AS we were chatting with the SW desk agent. The agent said the only thing they could do is put us on the latest flight that was around 9pm and they gave us $200 vouchers. Will be canceling 9pm flight and hopefully can get our money back instead of travel credit.

Hoping this flight takes off. Only crappy thing is I’ll have to get an Uber from DFW to DAL to get our car. But thankful it may all be over soon and we should get home tonight.

Perfect call, glad you found two seats out of there and for a reasonable cost! The inbound for your AA flight is landing in 17 minutes. I just looked at the OT and those thunderstorms headed towards Dallas tonight will not be pleasant per Duke's thread, get back as soon as you can. Worth the Uber cost, you could also do the train if you want to save $$.

Days like today are not for the indecisive that’s for sure.

Yeah depending on how bad it’s raining when we get in I might just leave it another night and go pick it up tomorrow. We’re up north in the Prosper area so got a bit of driving once we get in. ~45 min

Rain starts at 10pm in Dallas so I'd recommend you get your car today and not have to deal with traffic on 35 tomorrow

I asked on the OT…

quote:

Southwest's pilots union denies any industrial action is ongoing, but Harteveld said pilots could have organized to arrange in unauthorized action known as a 'work slowdown.'

We have to have people from this site on the inside at SW. Any truth to Pilots/Staff doing a “sick out” to burn time prior to the mandate?

I actually don't think we have any SW people on here, not that they'd admit it even if if they were. I'm believing there is some truth, no way that only SW is affected by weather in that area. You'd think AA, DL, and UA would all be having similar issues into FL today if that was the case

The country needs someone to take a stand, honestly surprised it's southwest but I've got no issues with what they're doing and I don't think many people do. Absolutely sucks if you get caught in it like several posters here, always good to have a backup plan when flying or be able to reach out here for help.

I've got two trips coming up and have two airlines booked for a flight there and back with free cancellations/e-credit. Given these issues on southwest, I will probably end up cancelling them and fly on DL/UA

yeah, we have flights booked for outbound to MCO in January but havent booked our return flights yet. I'm considering cancelling the outbound on Southwest and just booking round trip on another airline

SW initially said they wouldn’t, so I’m surprised, being based in Tx that they did… But I’d assume like many morons, they took Biden’s threat as fact and jumped.

Just cost them 10s of millions this weekend. Congrats.
