Buddy and I will be going to games at the Trop, Daytona, Columbus GA, Birmingham, and Montgomery. I haven’t seen a Southern League game before, so I’m looking forward to it this June.

I always look for other stuff to do, be it sports venues, historical stuff, must sees, any special places to eat. I’ve been to the Tampa area before, but it’s been a couple decades since I’ve been to the other places. I’ve jotted down a few things: Civil Rights Trail, some of the old factory and mill sites, beaches. Any suggestions from you all?

They’re playing the East-West Classic at Rickwood on June 19. Rickwood is an incredible park that is worth a visit. The Negro League museum is also worth a visit, it’s very close to Regions Park.

Barber Motorsports park is worth a visit if you have any interest in motorcycles.

We have a fully restored vaudeville theater and a fully restored silent movie theater with the original house organ. I would go see someone read the phone book at either. They are beautiful.

What do you like to do? Museums, golf, outdoors? I can make others reccs in BHM.

Sloss Furnace and the old Tannehill ironworks could be of interest.

Daytona Tortugas I think that is there Single A team.

Was stoked to find out Ty Floyd and Luke Holman (former Tiger Pitchers) were on the team was all set to go watch them since Daytona is only about 30 mins away from me. The Problem? Both are on the injured list and have been for a while. Btw you should stop in Jacksonville. Home of the Jumbo Shrimp the AAA team for the Marlins.

I’m driving. I have to be in Florida, but will be taking this trip on the way back to Texas.

I’ll be seeing 8 games in 8 days.

I start in Lakeland on June 7. Tampa June 8. Then Dayton, Jacksonville, Columbus, Birmingham, Montgomery, and maybe some random Indy league team outside Jackson, MS. That doesn’t leave lots of time for long activities, but plenty of time to do some sightseeing and get some good food.

I’ll have my clubs, but I think I’ll only be doing golf in Florida.

I like outdoors, history, good food spots, normal touristy stuff.

history,

If you heading north from Daytona and going through Jacksonville you better stop in St. Augustine right off Interstate 95. You won't regret it if you never been.

For Columbus: National Infantry Museum, Whitewater Express raft trip, Callaway Gardens, eat at Mabella’s if you’re looking for a great steak.

If you have your clubs a round at RTJ Grand National in Auburn/Opelika is worth it (I prefer Links over the Lakes course) or Callaway Gardens (Mountainview course over Lakeview course) but much prefer RTJ.
