Places to Stay in Destin Florida

Taking the wife and our 2 year old on a little mini vacation over Easter before our new one comes out. Seeing if anybody got any recommendations for places to stay in Destin. Don't need anything super nice, but would like to be able to swim in the pool without worrying. Thinking $200-300 is a good range. Anybody got any suggestions? Also with Easter being the last weekend in April is a heated pool necessary? Also places with activities or good pool for a 2 year old would be a plus. Thanks for any advice in advance.

Maybe check out Baytowne Village. Several different hotel style places there with several pools(not sure if any are heated) and kids activities. Lots of restaurants to walk to as well. As the name suggests, it's not on the beach though, if that's what you're looking for. They do run buses to the Sandestin beach across the street, or used to. It's been several years since I've been there.

Are you looking for actual easter weekend? Because that's going to be pretty busy and pricey due to the Holiday.
I'd recommend the Sandestin Hilton for what you are looking for, but I'm not sure it will be in your price range for the actual weekend.

Good suggestion. Mostly because some of their pools are heated. That time of the year the non heated pools and the gulf are going to be too cold to swim in.
OP, while not exactly in Destin, there is a place a little west to look at that will be more affordable. The place is called Destin West Resort. It's a pretty good property, and unless something had changed recently, you are allowed to use the splash pad and pool at the Ramada next door.

I second Baytowne. It is the best place down there for a mini vacation with a young one.

Yes it will be actual Easter weekend. I’ll check out the San Destin area as we are not worried about being in the beach if it means more activities for the young one

I'd also consider Navarre Beach--West of Destin, just as clear water, but considerably less crowded. Less night life options, but if you're going with a toddler, that shouldn't be an issue.

Try Pelican Beach in Destin. Priced a 2br for around $1k for Thursday-Monday. They have 1brs cheaper. Good place. Stayed a few years now. You can stay at their terrace building, behind the beach front building but longer walk for cheaper. I don’t like the walk.
Indoor/outdoor pool. Bar and grill for lunch and drinks.
It’s also next door to a mellow mushroom and ice cream shop on one side, Alvin’s island, liquor store and seafood store on the other.

Second (or third) Sandestin and offer Tops’l which adjoins Sandestin to the east.

Tops'l is a good choice if you get in the right building. Some of those buildings are a loooong walk to the pools/beach from what I remember. Unless they've added pools. I only recall 2 that are just off the beach.

Silver Dunes if you wish to stay in Destin.
