Trying to figure out if I have enough time between flights to switch planes. Can someone with more experience with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Intl (ATL) help me out, I've only flown into ATL once, and it was quite a few years ago.
Flight details are as followed:
DEPARTS Mon, 05 Mar 3:55 PM from Louis Armstrong New Orleans Intl Arpt (MSY)
ARRIVES Mon, 05 Mar 6:23 PM at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Intl (ATL)
38 minute layover
DEPARTS Mon, 05 Mar 7:01 PM from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Intl (ATL)
ARRIVES Mon, 05 Mar 8:50 PM at Municipal/Baer Field (FWA)
RETURN FLIGHT
DEPARTS Fri, 09 Mar 5:13 PM from Municipal/Baer Field (FWA)
ARRIVES Fri, 09 Mar 7:09 PM at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Intl (ATL)
DEPARTS Fri, 09 Mar 7:57 PM from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Intl (ATL)
ARRIVES Fri, 09 Mar 8:40 PM at Louis Armstrong New Orleans Intl Arpt (MSY)
45 minute layover

You’re good on the return. There’s 2 or 3 more flights into MSY that night if for some reason you’re delayed and miss your connection.
On the outbound, is that the last departure from ATL to Ft. Wayne?

I think golfer was asking about the atlanta to fwa flight just to make sure you wouldn't get stuck overnight there if you misconnected. And yes, there is another flight leaving atlanta at 827pm for fort wayne on march 5th. I'd probably book this connection

38 minutes at ATL is doable, but tight. You will be departing to FWA out of D concourse (most likely). Your arrival will be into A, maybe T (again, most likely). Try to sit as far forward on the MSY-ATL flight as possible. That flight is operated with a 757 and if you are seated in the back it could take 15 minutes just to get out.
Coming back 45 should be fine. If you are worried at all, check your bag in FWA to MSY. The flight from FWA-ATL is a CRJ, which will require you to check nearly any carryon larger than a backpack.

Where will you be sitting on the plane from MSY to ATL?
If you're way in the back, 38 minutes is doable, but extremely tight.
If you're in the first 10 rows, you should make it with minimal stress.

I have had much shorter connections in ATL. Just know where your plane is arriving and departing (use the Delta app) and go quickly to the tram. As others said, try sitting in the front of the plane.
