My wife and I are going for my 40th in January. What streets or part of town should we be staying in for crowds our age? We’ll likely do a couple nice meals and spend some time in bars listening to live music.

You will want to be close (walking distance) to Broadway. The Renaissance on Commerce Street is pretty nice, but pricey (as is the Hilton Nashville Downtown). There are also JW Marriott and Westin hotels nearby, in a similar price-range.

If you don't mind a little walk, and are more interested in the destination than the lodging...there is a Holiday Inn Express on Broadway and 10th that is fine.

Fairlane, Dream, Bobby, Noelle, and Indigo are all right by Printer's Alley and a quick walk up from Broadway. Thompson is your choice in the Gulch. Hutton is your choice for Midtown.

Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn off of Korean Veterans Blvd last time me and the wife stayed downtown. All the bars on Broadway will have a mixed age range. Just hit them all, most are 3 floors counting the rooftop and have different bands on every floor.

Last time we went (spring 2015), we stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites on the corner of Korean Veterans Blvd and 4th Ave.

It was an easy 4 block walk to Broadway. Another half block or so and you were at the tour entrance for the Ryman. CMHoF was even closer.

we've stayed at noelle the last couple times to nashville.

they do a hidden christmas bar that could possibly still be open depending on when in january you will be there.

great location too.

Just stayed at the Gaylord Opryland. Nice place. There is an hourly shuttle to downtown.

Not to hijack your thread but we are also going in January. We are leaning towards Airbnb. You might want to look into that too.

We are going in January as well. This will be our first trip but some friends suggested the Cambria Downtown Nashville. It's one block from Broadway and they said the hotel was very nice. Rooms rates are very reasonable.

If you have the budget for a hotel, do The Thompson in the Gulch or Noelle near Printers Alley. Cool vibe, close to the action, great rooftop bars, etc.. The chains are nice if you are using points but there is nothing special about JW, Westin, Omni, etc.

We are going this weekend and staying at the JW Marriott.

We are flying up Saturday morning and back on Monday. Sunday should be fun since the Titans are playing in the AFC championship and a lot of people will likely be out and about.

We don’t want fine dining per say, but I also don’t want to be eating bar food. We’ve been told to go to Tootsies for late night. What other restaurants and bars should we consider While we are there this weekend? We like country music and good food.

The Thompson in the Gulch is perfect . The area is very nice with many great restaurants. Sunda across the street and LA Jackson on rooftop is best of its kind in town . One can only take so much of Broadway. It’s become a touch more Bourbon St. like in last few years.
