My dear FB regarding traveling in Quebec.

I had another “dear Facebook” post on the OT, but was crapped on for the topic. I figured this would be a better place.
The wife and I are in Quebec City. It’s like traveling abroad and traveling through time all at once. Architecture and history are incredible.
I’ve run into some locals that were very angry while working their tourist related job, but that’s not my first experience with that in French Canada. I thought it was humorous.
That said, I had no idea that about 60% of my fellow travelers would be of Middle Eastern descent. My last visit here was over 20 years ago, so I don’t remember much about the other visitors. Is there a reason this location is so attractive to that specific demographic?
Also, the picture taking is absolutely out of control. People will stop right in front of a crowd and try to clear everyone out to take a pic of their family. Lastly, is there something different with drivers here? On the highway, I did my best to do the speed limit in a foreign country. As we were passed on the left, I noticed those cars would quickly zip back into the right lane, sometimes cutting me off, even if traffic around was non existent.

That's a shame. There's some good looking Québecoise in that town.

I love Quebec City. It is like being in a little arrondossment of Paris, the closest thing you will get to Paris on this side of the pond. Everyone speaks French, the restaurants are French, the architecture is French. We stay at the Chateau Frontiac Hotel which is the big, fortress like hotel on top of the hill.
I was last there the week Les Miles was fired. I can’t wait to go back.

My experience was shocking too to see so many Arabs. Also, they don’t like speaking English there so good luck.

It’s very touristy in Old Quebec, but you still need to check out the Chateau. The food is great down there. I’m a big fan of Cow’s ice cream. I did the falls nearby. Otherwise, I think 2 full days was plenty for us.

Go eat at Aux Ancien Canadiens. It's right behind the Frontenac and one of the oldest restaurants in QC. Great authentic local food. Lunch menu lasts until 6pm.
