The wife and I will have one day in Chicago to sight see later this month and this will be our first time seeing the city. What are some of the best things to see or do?
I forgot about the travel board. Damn that got moved quick.

Sears Tower, the girl and the goat

Don't waste your time with Sear's tower. Go to the bar at the top of the Hancock.

An architectural boat tour would be at the top of my list.
Cubs game.
Deep dish pizza if you’ve never been.
If not pizza, there are several truly outstanding restaurants and steakhouses. Would need to know preference in costs, food, and ambiance before making a recc.
A great city to visit.

I definitely enjoyed that and would recommend.

Had a day in Chicago a couple years ago and went to Willis (Sears) tower and a Cubs game. Cubs game was awesome but Willis tower kinda sucked, there was a ridiculous line and it’s kinda expensive from what I remember. It was cool being on top and standing out on the glass ledge but not worth it IMO.

Hancock - free to get in, but expensive drinks. No line at all when we went right before dinner.

If you're looking for the primary tourist spots, here is the common list:
- Willis Tower
- Hancock / Signature Room
- Architecture Boat Tour
- Bean / Millennium Park
- Navy Pier
- CityPASS for museums
- Magnificent Mile
- Lincoln Park Zoo
- Wrigley Field game or tour
If you would prefer to sprinkle less of the tourist attractions, I would recommend taking the train into some of Chicago's neighborhoods and walking around.
- Lincoln Park is expansive and difficult to navigate the entire thing on foot, but Armitage corridor has a lot of boutique shops. South Pond near the Zoo has great views of downtown. Walking south on Lakeshore Path will take you into River North.
- Wicker Park is a quirky neighborhood. Some weirdos walking around, but Milwaukee is a cool street and Division is lined with bars. The Robey rooftop (Up & Up) gives you sweeping views of Chicago.
- Lakeview is a great neighborhood. Obviously where Wrigley Field is, but I like to recommend Southport Corridor. Pretty family-oriented street, but still plenty of boutique shops and restaurants.
- Logan Square is starting to blow up. Seems you can't go more than a block without finding a cocktail bar. Couple of my favorite restaurants in the area are 90 Miles, Giant and Fat Rice.
- West Loop has a number of higher-end restaurants and the board's favorite, Girl and the Goat. Plenty here will tell you to book far in advance, which is fine if the right reservation is available. Don't freak out if not, though, because parties will cancel days or day before. Allows you to monitor OpenTable. Don't think I've ever had a reservation more than one week out.

If you find yourself stumbling out of a bar in Lincoln Park and want some tasty hot dogs and to talk shite to a bunch of black chicks be sure to stop at Weiner's Circle.
It has been a minute since I was last there but it was great at the time. Their TV show and social media may have ruined the authenticity of the experience.

With just one day, I'd do outdoor exploring, but if you have more time or it rains, the Field Museum of Natural History and the Art Institute of Chicago are excellent museums.
Buddy Guy's Legends club was a fun visit at night. Have not been to the current/new location. Buddy usually plays almost daily in January, but other acts cover the rest of the schedule.

About to jump on a flight and head there for the weekend to see Pearl Jam at Wrigley on Sat.
Pretty solid list that I'll use for a template. Thanks.
