I'll also recommend the Boathouse for dinner.

what part of town are you going to be in?
The boathouse recommendations always confuse me. I have only had mediocre meals there, but being use to New Orleans might make me biased.
Downtown area:
Alleia, St John’s/Meeting place, Tony’s, Champys, Tremont Tavern are all good
Tupelo Honey people like, Two Ten Jack isn’t a bad ramen place. Aretha Frankenstein’s is an interesting for breakfast as suggested. There is a ton of bar food places around there that are good.
If you are in a specific part of town, let me know.

Don’t know how I haven’t heard anything about this place before, hit it up last night and great recommendation. Thanks

Agreed. I've been there a couple times.
It's great and not talked about much.
Have you been to attack of the Tatsu yet? It's legit.

glad you enjoyed it, my gfs family lives there and we all went there one night and sat upstairs and was very impressed with the overall experience; food, flavor, aesthetic, service was all top notch

Nope, there is a lot of places that opened up after Covid I need to hit up. Didn’t realize how many places were down there now til we went down there for Calliope and then walked around a bit and got some drinks. Will check that one out.

Bump for Calliope. Just got back from a great meal after getting this rec. Really fantastic place. Might be the Arak talking though. Thanks for your post! Easy bistro has been my favorite place for years for nice night out but this might have jumped it.

Do you like meat and bourbon?
If so, go to Main Street Meats.
If not, definitely don’t go there, because it’s a butcher shop turned restaurant/bar with a huge (like 20+ pages worth) selection of bourbons.

Did the original one used to be open late? I stayed in a vrbo almost directly across the street in 2018-2019 timeframe and remember trying to sober up there eating biscuits and 1.5” thick pancakes late one night/early one morning.
