My daughter ( no pics ) and her friends are heading to NO at the end of January. They are looking at this hotel. Two blocks from the French Quarter. Is it a decent location/hotel? Thanks

It's not the Windsor Court or Ritz Carlton, but it's not exactly a flop house. It looks to be as clean and well kept as anything in that area. I can't imagine it being really appreciably less safe than anything else around there either.

Thank you. The reviews of the hotel look pretty decent. There are always a few bad reviews. I am more interested in location versus whether it is the Ritz Carlton.

When I went last week for the UGA game we stayed at the Royal Crescent on Gravier street. We were walking distance from anythign we wanted to do while in NO but it didn't feel like it was in a "seedy" part of town. Room was nice and clean and staff was great. Only kinda lousy thing is lack of parking so you valet it for $40/day, but I imagine many places in NO probably operate similarly.

2) Signup for players card
3) Play 30 minutes of penny slots
4) Parking is comped for 24 hours

Change of plans to make you happy. Courtyard Marriott on Iberville. I stayed there 2 years ago. Nice hotel. I am covering one room with points and all the girls will split the cost of the other two rooms.
Thanks for everyone’s feedback.
I will share my stay next week in Nashville

Excellent choice. Haven’t stayed there in a while, but that Courtyard shares a lot of amenities with the Ritz next door, including the car service. At least they used to.

If they know their exact dates and they know for sure they are going, tell them to do "Name Your Price" on Priceline. Pick the French Quarter area, 3-1/2 Star Hotels and start their price at $80. If $80 doesn't work, increase their bid by $5 until it takes it. I've done this multiple times and have gotten the Marriot on Canal (555 Canal) every time for no more than $90 a night. The location is great and any 3-1/2 star hotel in this area is going to be very nice. Only catch is it charges your card the day you book and you cannot cancel.

***Just re-read you last post....good choice....you won't be disappointed.***

I like the Omni Royal Orleans. Good central location in the quarter and decently priced.

I go to Harrahs sometimes to gamble. I get comped rooms for the following month. I’ve had friends come in and I’ve went got the room under my name. Really nice rooms

That Courtyard on Iberville is a great safe quality choice and all amenities at the Ritz are available as well. If they want in and out parking, valet is available. If they want just a daily rate, there is a garage right across the street on Iberville.
