We did a golf cart tour with Isla Robby and loved it. Great way to get an idea of the whole island and good food spots

Rent a golf cart for the day and go check out the south side of the island.

Go to Rolandis for lobster pizza or any other pizzas.

If you plan to take the ferry to Cancun then get to the port 1.5-2 hours early. (5PM ferry travel is a nightmare)

If you like eating at local restaurants, and hanging out at the beach all day, stay in the north end

if you guys like to be bums and chill at the hotel, then stay along the middle part of the island facing the mainland

Go to La Casa Del Ceviche for dinner. It’s in La Gloria neighborhood. Ask to sit on the roof and go at sunset.

Mango cafe for breakfast.

Kin Ha is our favorite beach club, it’s not on the north beach but you can borrow snorkel and stuff and they have some great snorkeling right off the pier.

We like Green Demon on the north beach. Fun on Friday or Saturday with live music and dancing Latinas

Spend a morning a Punta Sur on the south end. Plenty of wildlife to be seen if you take your time. My wife and I spend hours relaxing and trying to spot sea turtles from up on the cliff. After spending time at Punta Sur, stop by The Joint for lunch and a big frozen drink. Super chill bar.

Check out Isla Brewing company. Decent beer but chill restaurant and good food. Great Poke bowl.

Tonichos is a cool neighborhood restaurant. They have pretty good pizza but also authentic Mexican. We are usually the only white folks when we go eat there.

Of course go have a drink at the Soggy Peso.

Isla is an incredible place. Cruise around and stop at hole in the walls. The locals are incredibly nice and wonderful people. Enjoy!

My favorite place for a quick trip I'm trying to get a place there but freaking prices have trippled.
I highly highly highly recommend doing the food tour with Juan. Hell take you to some good local spots.
Baustos in the Colnia area was recommended to me by someone here is really good.
In the touristy area by north beach I really like Lola Valentina. Good prices, ac if it's hot.

In that area you also have the Mercado which is three really cheap spots great for breakfast.

Though the best breakfast is at Mangos Cafe. If you like savory go for the breakfast chili rellino. If you like sweet get the Coconut French toast.

I try new places every time but those are in my every trip rotation. There is another spot but I forgot the name that had whole fried hogfish for cheap. But it's on Juan's tour. That's the best eating local fish.

But if you see it try Fish Tikin Xic. It's a local Mayan way of doing fish. They have pork the same way too. Grilled wrapped in peppers and banna leaves.

As far as bars usually up and down Hidalgo. IM is very safe and you can walk all over. I usually stay in the more local area and have no issues even late at night.

Avoid places close to the abandoned air strip. The emergency generator is there. It's jet powered and super loud. I found out why I got a house in the water so cheap last trip.

Book a whale shark swimming experience. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.

Yes this is great too. I've done it twice with Isla Spirit Adventures.
The first time I jumped in on a giant Manta Ray and swam with it. It's fun but you have to quickly jump in off a moving boat. The first time I had a life vest the second time a wet suit with no vest. It was easier to swim with a vest. But it's also a crazy feeling to realize you are in 1000 deep water.
Each time we saw multiple sharks.
Then ate ceviche at North Beach then snorkled by the lighthouse.

This place is awesome!! Samura was a really cool sushi place.

Rent a golf cart for sure.

Go to a few beach clubs. We had a good time at Zama and Kin Ha.

Why? The ferries run later than this?

I think its just due to volume from what I've been reading. The ferry runs till 11:00

This, not like it once was. Looking for another spot that has yet to be discovered. Might try Isla Holbox for the next trip.

Leaving for Roatan on Thrusday, first time there. Last minute, just booked it yesterday, normally would do Isla trips like this. Excited for a new place, staying mid island. Not much interest in going to the west end, looks crowded.
