Damn Cuse, you're the best. Do you happen to have flights to Houston from either Honolulu or LAX around Tuesday/Wednesday? Going to get on the phone here in a bit today.

Cuse, you are doing god's work. I'm thinking getting back to LA and seeing if United can put me on a flight Wednesday would probably be the best course considering the latest forecasts.

Wednesday is basically the same flights as i posted above plus a few extras (8:17am or 1:35pm). Many options from LAX on UA so just get a good agent, ask for whatever flight time you want to leave LA and they should make it work to your plans.

Felt like I should give an update. I'm getting on a United through San Fran to New Orleans out of Honolulu at 2:40 tomorrow. I was worried about personally stalling in LA while my bags went through to Houston in the event they didn't technically cancel the flight. Had to press them to waive the requirement that the new ticket would be to IAH, but this works because I have family in LA obviously and ways to get back to Houston as soon as weather permits. I just have no desire to go into that mess with the recent updates.

Flying from Portland to New Orleans the 30th. Connecting through IAH. Should try to get another flight? One goes through Denver I see.

Yes do not go through houston unless absolutely required. Employees at the airport will be exhausted, flight crews may not even be able to make it to the airport due to flooding, etc. Its just not worth it, change your flight when the waiver is up

They may post the waiver tomorrow, hoping AA extends this waiver further.

Update: Houston Hobby is closed for operations on southwest. All flights in and out of HOU are cancelled for the foreseeable future

Could you leave tuesday afternoon instead of wednesday? You're doing LCH-DFW right? There's a flight at 2:03pm. That way even if it does get cancelled on tuesday you still have wednesday to potentially make it

Yeah that's definitely an option, Ill just have to wait on these waivers I guess...for reference I'm just watching to see if they cancel any of the flights today/tomorrow out of lch to dfw

American has already cancelled tonight's DFW-LCH flight meaning the 6am tomorrow will be cancelled.

The 2pm flight will probably be your best option on Tuesday. The flight comes in, sits for 30 minutes, then heads straight back to DFW. I'm sure American is worried about leaving their plane on the ground for 10 hours overnight during this storm hence the late night/early morning cancellations

What do you think they will do about flights into hobby on Friday? been out of touch all weekend and haven't really kept up on what the storm is doing next week. I don't really need to go to Houston if the game is not being played there.

Even if the airport reopens, crew and gate agents will have a tough time getting to the airport due to floods. Just hope the game gets moved over the next two days then cancel your trip once plans are finalized

Flying Turkish Airlines Thursday night out of IAH to Venice with a connection in Istanbul.

Should I anticipate issues and try to change fights?

At this point all you can do is keep an eye on it and see when IAH reopens

Call in. You're going to be on hold for a while but may as well do it now while it's sunday.

There are 4 seats left on the Tuesday afternoon. Get on it now! The 6am Tuesday flight is already cancelled.

AA 3545 LCH 2:03 PM DFW 3:21 PM

When rebooking, I would give yourself a 2 hour connection just in case you are delayed out of LCH due to weather. No point in getting all the way to Dallas only to miss your connecting flight

ETA: It's at Y2. It looks like that 2:03pm flight on tuesday may be the first one from LCH-DFW since today, everything else is cancelled for tomorrow and the 6am tuesday. Might be worth it just to stick with the 2:03pm on Wednesday or fly out of LFT?
