Going to be in Denver, we want to go hiking, but wont have a car nor want to rent one. Are there shuttles that take people? Uber seems $$ and im not sure we would be able to request one.
TIA
TIA

I don't know of any shuttles but maybe you can look at getting a guided hike that provides transportation.

You need to rent a car if you want to do some of the better hikes out in the mountains. If you want to hike around red rocks or trails just outside of golden you can uber.

You can take the train from airport to Littleton then hitchhike to the Watertown Park trailhead. Colorado Trail will take you to Breck, Twin Lakes and eventually Durango.
that’s how I got there.
Or shuttle to Breck from airport. Won’t need vehicle there. Plenty of trails and Summit County buses.
Hitchhiking is easy in areas where hikers frequent. Maybe tougher after COVID 19 is past is.

It may be easier to stay in Boulder if yall just want good front range hikes. There are buses that will take you to the Flatirons and the Sanitas trailheads. There are buses from Denver to Boulder as well.
Not sure how good the buses are for Denver area hikes, like in Golden. We took ubers to those hikes since the bus schedules weren’t as great going that direction.

Boulder has great hiking and fantastic scenery . You can take bus or light rail super cheap. It’s called RTD. Bus is easy easy and super cheap. When you get there go to Pearl Street Mall . Hike nearby Mt Sanitas. Or go to Chautauqua and hike there. Trails everywhere.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but you do know the entire state is shut down right now right?
Gov released a statement all mad at people on trails bc no one is distancing. Just a heads up, but bet of luck! It’s gorgeous here today

To be clear, it’s okay to go hiking there as long as you keep your space? Or they telling people to stay indoors?

Rent your own car.
We are in unprecedented times, don’t make this harder than it already is.

They are saying you can go hiking if you can hike/bike to the trail. They don't want people driving to trails. A lot of trails are being closed. Forest service has closed a bunch and Gilpin County is closing roads that lead to the trail parking lots. Most restrooms and picnic areas are closed.
I'm not a huge stay home guy but why would someone travel now?

Assuming all this stuff is over by August, why couldn’t you use Uber or Lyft?
And no, there isn’t public transportation that runs shuttles to trail heads.

im slightly worried about not being able to request an uber out.

If it’s not over by August. We got bigger problems that getting to a trail.

I'd rent a car right now, but the Bustang also goes all over the place now. You can hop on at Union Station.

If you’re looking for hikes near city limits, I think you could do better than Denver. Especially if you don’t want to stay in Boulder.
SLC in particular has amazing hikes within city limits. But I’d put Portland, Seattle, SD, LA as having better hikes than the Denver area within a 30 minute uber.
You don’t generally get to the really good stuff in CO until you hit about an hour out of the city, IMO. That said if you’re to be in Denver for non-hiking reasons that’s understandable.

That’s an amazing area for hiking, and it doesn’t get super crowded. Lake Blanche and Mt. Olympus are both beautiful hikes. Anything in the Twin Peaks Wilderness or Uintas-Wasatch will be golden for yall.
