I drove through about 5:30pm and they had begun preparing to pickup all the cones so that generated some traffic but nobody was stopped and nobody was forced to go through the weigh station. Took me 24 minutes to get from the state line through all of the traffic but I would imagine by this morning all the cones are gone and it's clear sailing.

Big waste of time anyway. They were not really accomplishing anything

I was about fifty cars back at 3:00 when they started waving cars by. I was happy.

Really?

That’s wild. Well, sorry for the dated info. I guess I’ll RA to delete so it doesn’t confuse anyone

Good. I am going to Destin in 3 weeks. I was hoping they would stop all that foolishness.

Makes absolutely no sense. How many people from LA made it through without completing the paperwork? Either do it or don’t.

Currently LA, NY, CT and NJ are considered hot spots according to Florida. Is LA even still 4th when it comes to recent cases?

Really don't understand the point of this checkpoint. They are not actually requiring anyone to do anything. Why even waste the manpower.

Perception

There’s nothing really being accomplished but a waste of state resources and a delay to travelers.

I have a Seascape sticker on my windshield above my La. brake tag (although it was for 2019). It is the type given only to condo owners, although it is not my condo. I wonder if that will do me any good.

Drove in to Pensacola yesterday, stopped at buccees, took hwy 90 & hopped back on I-10 just past the checkpoint. Smooth sailing... just watch your speed on 90, saw a few troopers

Louisiana is having less new cases per capita than Florida on most days. Texas took us off the hotspot list. Maybe Golfer needs to send his charts to the governor of Florida.

Came to Sandestin last night and did the same. Very easy.

Looking to go to Navarre for the week of the 15th. If I book through VRBO/Airbnb am I looking for trouble? Read some stuff that seemed to suggest I might be but its up to the locals (residents and LEO) to ferret me out.
