Gonna be in Austin 6/15-6/17. Concert at Moody Center and comedy show at Rogan's Club. Is this area fine to walk around or should I plan to Uber? I was looking at Hotel Indigo.

It's uncomfortably safe.

Tip for The Comedy Club...go to the 10PM show. Arrive around 9PM and is if you can wait at the bar. You will have to put your phone in a bag.

Have a few drinks...and when the 2 early shows let out, sit at the far end of the bar, closest to the rest room. They will start seating the bar area first...guaranteeing a front row seat!

I did it by accident last month when I went to see Jim Norton.

We have an 8PM Sunday show to see Tyler Fischer. I don't know if they'll have any shows prior or bar opens beforehand? I've never been and don't know what to expect haha.

Call and ask what time the bar opens and see if you can go have a few drinks before they start seating people...its still a head start. Your phones will already be checked and odds are you will get sat first.

Don’t wear anything patriotic or conservative. MAGA there means Marxists, atheists, Gays and ancharchists.

The section of 6th St where the the comedy club is located isn't the best but you should be fine. May see some homeless in the area. Around Hotel Indigo also isn't the best as far as homeless. That said, the vast majority of people never have a problem. You might check out the Rainey St area although I have no idea on prices. Lots of bars and restaurants over there but lots of construction too.

Are you going in a group or just a couple? If more than just a couple I can extend a TD discount on a short term rental on the east side. Sleeps up to 7. Very safe and uber to 6th would be cheap. Lots of restaurants & bars on that side of town.

We actually changed things up a bit since this post. Now we’re staying midtown for the Saturday and Sunday night followed by Fredericksburg on Monday night. And it’s just the wife and I. I appreciate the offer though!

5-7 years ago, yes. Now it’s just a sterile and commercialized feel. Way too much development in all those high rise towers that have taken all the charm out of it.

Austin is a liberal shite hole. Head west to the hill country. Much better scenery and people out that way.
