Yes some Hilton, Marriott and IHG brands let a dog sleep overnight for an additional $50-$100/night but the dog must vacate the room. Does anyone know of a chain where you can leave the dog in the room for a few hours (or all day) while you go out and explore?

LaQuinta is your best bet.

I left my 90 pound dog in the room at a Residence Inn 4x a week when I went into the office in Dallas for nearly six months. He wasn't a big barker though.

Grand Bohemian in Greenville is dog-friendly. We left the dog in the room when we went to dinner. They give you a hang tag for the door that lets housekeeping know a dog is inside

LaQuinta or Residence Inn both are usually good with dogs and you have a dog in room tag you hang on door so housekeeping stays out.
