Ready to buy some plane tickets in July for Glacier National Park and Yellowstone trip. Was going to wait hoping for holiday sale. Anyone know?

SWA has not been a low cost carrier since before they bought AirTran. Leave on the 0530 flight and come back on the 11pm flight, there is your discount.

If it's a highly desired flight or route, don't expect it to go on sale.

Facts. I’m in DFW where SW and AA are based, and it’s always the more expensive option

We went to Cancun in June and SW wanted $600 direct and we booked on AA for $380.

If you end up booking SW, Sam's and Costco have giftcards for them. Costco today was $430 for $500. I was at Sams last week and they were $450 for $500 there.

I wouldn't buy them unless I was ready to pull the trigger on some tickets ...

That’s why it was more expensive. SWA doesn’t fly direct internationally. It’s been consistently less expensive to Pto Vallarta from DAL for me the few times I’ve gone.

AA is always more expensive out of Dallas every single time I look. Plus I have to add $50-100/leg for luggage.

Well I book trips for work 1-2x a quarter and rarely does SW win. They are good if you’re flying regionally

Alaska Airlines often runs sales from MSY to SEA direct. I have been tempted to take them up on it, and to head east.
