I just can’t justify spending that kind of money when the parks are only open till 6-8pm

We are the type to close it down every night and spend 12-15 hours at a park

I can’t imagine leaving a park at 6pm

We are the types who get there at rope drop and leave with park closing, and there was more than enough time for us to do everything we wanted to do at least twice while we were there. We ended up leaving before park closing on multiple days, and that's extremely unusual for us.

Granted, that was when the parks were open for 10 hours a day, but I still think you could get it all done in 8.

The only park where we felt like we could have used more time was Animal Kingdom, but that was only because my girls suddenly decided they wanted to do the wilderness explorers thing.

We got all but 3 of those stickers (only because the explorer spots opened after the park opened and closed before the park closed) and still road every ride and saw every zoo exhibit. We rode the Pandora rides and the Safari twice.

ETA: We did one day each at EPCOT and Animal Kingdom, and two days each at Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom.

That’s good to hear I’m just afraid we missed our chance because everything I’ve heard is the crowds are returning to normal. Especially as we move closer to the new year.

Plus our favorite time by a mile to be in the park is at night.

If they have Halloween Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom cards available, I'll pay you to get me one. They did not have them when we were there. We had tickets to the Halloween party that they had to cancel on us and no Halloween stuff was happening yet.

Explain a little more about what I’ll have to do and I’ll mail it to you if they have it.

We are going Thanksgiving week and I’m really worried. We went for one day this summer when they first opened (was staying at Universal) and it was amazing. Everything was a walk on. However, I’m sure Thanksgiving week will be much busier and I worry about long wait times with shorter park hours. We will just make the best of it.

The resorts on the monorail are not necessarily open. Some of them are only open for the DVC rooms. That’s not a bad thing. I highly suggest pricing a stay on property through Disney and then seeing what you can get through a DVC rental site like Dave’s DVC. We rent DVC points almost every stay and it saves us anywhere from 40-50 percent. It may be your only choice for some or all monorail resorts.

Dining plan. DO NOT DO IT. It is the biggest money grab Disney has going and so many people haven’t figured it out. You will come ahead paying for everything you eat unless the only thing you eat is steak for every meal.

They are really firm about it inside the parks. Things get a little more relaxed at the resorts and springs but at first, they'll politely ask you to make sure it's on and worn above the nose (remember, no gaiters are allowed). But there is really a no tolerance policy on it.

The more I hear this I think we'll just line up my mother/MIL to keep him. He's two so it's not like he'll remember it anyway. Sucks too bc i want to bring him. It was kind of an impromptu trip anyhow. We had lsu/Florida football tickets but the game was rescheduled for the following weekend so we made disney/universal plans instead. This way we won't have to worry about being harassed between the airlines and the parks.

At the fire station in Magic Kingdom (left hand side at the back of the square as you enter the park), they give out Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom cards. They do this year round. It's for a game you can play in the park. You get a pack of cards for each person in your group. They also always do cards for the special Halloween and Christmas parties, but this year they aren't having those parties. I think you would simply have to ask them if they have the Halloween cards when you get your pack. They might even have Christmas cards. They typically hand out one of these for each person in a group during the parties.

This is the building where you get the cards (not my image):

There are viral videos going around about this happening. They may be a little more lenient with him being a child, but if you push the issue they will absolutely make you leave.

I do wish they'd alternate the times a little. It's much cooler, temperature wise, at night. Would have been an even better experience.

The only park where we got any hint of nighttime was Epcot, but they're closing that earlier now.

The wait times are getting long again. Anyone know when they plan to bring fast passes back?

Going in mid October. Elite Orlando tours is telling me they have a way around the lines without fast passes. Anyone use these people before?

I never ever use third parties for Disney trips. I think they're a rip-off.

Just bought the fast passes for universal. 298$ for 2. Ouch. Will be worth it though since we have park hopper too and doing both big parks in one day.

I hope it is worth it. We had no issues riding everything without those passes when we went to Universal in July, but I'm sure it's busier now.

ETA: Make sure you get the Universal parks app and get reservations for Hagrids motorbike ride once you're in the parks. Your fast passes will not work for that ride. You don't need an account or anything like that. We rode it 8 times over 2 days when we went. We were at Universal for 4 days total.

Me too for 300 bones. This is my first time going since I was like 5 (30 yrs ago lol ) . I figured since it was a Saturday and we're trying to do both parks it would prob be needed. The lines are picking up steam from what I've heard.

It's definitely worth it during normal times. Either way, I don't think you're going to be at all disappointed with the purchase. There are definitely lines, even if they're shorter lines, and it will be nice to skip them.
