He posted one yesterday that said DisneyWorld had its busiest week of 2020 this past week and he was wondering if this is a sign of things to come for the rest of the year.

The park availability calendar shows no parks available for this Saturday for theme park guests and resort guests, so looks like business is picking up.

Well, we were booked on a cruise out of port canaveral Nov 22-29 and had planned a few days at WDW before we sailed but we decided were just going to make it a theme park week instead. We already have Universal APs so we bought a 7 day day WDW ticket and booked a room at Buena Vista suites.

Right now I don't see much value in staying on grounds especially since we decided to drive and will have a car anyway. Buena Vista Suites has a "heroes" rate (my wife is a CRNA and qualified) so it was $69/night which was less than $700 for 8 nights.

I'm going to HOPE they increase the capacity at Hollywood Studios to try to grab a reservation there during the week of thanksgiving but with the recent layoffs up against the recent dropping of restrictions by Deasntis I think it will be an interesting few weeks.

We didn't find many dining reservations we wanted but were able to nab something at Boathouse for Thanksgiving day (also a Tiffins and a Skipper Canteen) so we got some of our favorites.

Most of the christmas type celebrations are canceled
Shouldn't be that bad crowd wise not like normal
No fast passes are still in effect most likely

The size of the crowd doesnt have as much to do with wait times as capacity does now with how they staff the park but I am expecting pretty much to have the same approach we always have had. Hit the E-ticket attractions early or late and spend the middle part of the day doing the less popular things

Just got back today. Unfortunately the couple times I passed by the fire station it said it wasn’t open. So I couldn’t ask about the card.

I saw that. We really lucked out. It only rained Monday and Tuesday afternoon for us and then after that there was a nice cool front and no rain the last few days.

Our park days were Monday-Friday. Honestly the Tues, Wed, Thurs park days couldn’t have been much better.

Animal Kingdom Tuesday- everything was 5-10 minutes except avatar which was only 30 most of the day.

Hollywood Wednesday- we got there at rope drop and did MMRR so that wasn’t a problem. Everything else stayed under an hour wait for the day and I don’t think we were in any line for more than 40. We also got a boarding group for Rise at 2PM so that was nice and unexpected.

Epcot was Thursday- Same as animal kingdom. Everything was 5-10 minutes except Frozen and Test Track and those were only about 30.

Magic Kingdom was Monday and Friday. Monday was by far the busiest day we were there. All the big rides routinely were over an hour and then around 2-3 it poured like crazy and we called it a day. Friday wasn’t as bad but we were staying at Beach Club and wanted to enjoy some pool time so we left after lunch.

All in all it was a great trip and not one that will probably happen again with the short wait times like they were.

Was that difficult or pretty easy to get? Will be there in a few days so just curious.

Also, looks like the starting price for a one day ticket has gone up from $109 to $120, so they are jacking up prices with the increased demand it appears.

You literally need to time it perfectly. At 10am I missed it and I was staring at my phone waiting for the clock to change to 10. I may have missed it by seconds.

It’s pretty ridiculous, but the ride is pretty cool. I definitely wasn’t banking on getting into a group when I missed it at 10.

All boarding groups are assigned in less than 20 seconds. I'd make sure you've got multiple people that have the app open and one person just started refreshing constantly even before the announcement. If they can't nab one hopefully someone else who waited until they heard the announcement can get one.

I'm really curious how strict they are on the mask policy with small kids. My son is 2 (26 months) and there's no way he'll keep a mask on.

Just got back yesterday from a week long trip. My youngest is 2.5. (32 months).

He wore the mask a couple days. But after the 4th day I was done making him wear it. During our last three days at park/resort I was told he needed a mask 5-6 times total. I just told them each time he turns 2 next month. Each time they would just say “oh ok. Just made it by” my son is in the 55 percentile of height and weight and fairly advanced vocally. So most likely they knew I was full of shite but had no way to prove it.

Dining plan. DO NOT DO IT. It is the biggest money grab Disney has going and so many people haven’t figured it out. You will come ahead paying for everything you eat unless the only thing you eat is steak for every meal.

This is not 100% accurate. First off. Currently Disney isn’t offering the dining plan. Secondly it really depends on your style of eating.
Our trip last year we did it and it saved us money. We got alcoholic drinks with each meal that cost $15 a piece and did one character meal a day. And used every snack credit. We easily saved money. For some that’s not the case. It just depends o ln your style of eating.

Also go to target with a RedCard and buy Disney gift cards then use them to pay for your trip. Will save you 5%.

Every single person in that park is looking at their phone from 9:58 to 10:01....

The queue opens at exactly 10:00.
We had two days at HS. The first day we missed the 10:00 window but were able to snag a 2:00. The second day we were able to get a 10:0 one.

The technique we used was my wife had it open refreshing and i had my apple watch. At 9:59:58 seconds she refreshed. the refresh cleared at like 10:00:01 and we were able to snag one.

No doubt. I'm worried that being to the east of this storm in the gulf it'll almost assuredly rain on us quite a bit but im keeping my fingers crossed. Yall flying or driving ?

We leave Thursday too. Had planned on stopping for the night in Pensacola but may end up routing through GA instead based on the weather.

We're supposed to fly out of msy Thursday morning @ 8am with spirit. Starting to worry about issues with our flights. According to the weather now the storms won't start until lunch or so Thursday but who knows.

Just got back from being there over the weekend. Went to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. It was overcast and rainy so it wasn't hot at all.

Two things I would advise. Don't always be scared off by the posted wait times and lines you will see. Nearly every wait time was about 75% of what was posted. The lines will look long because people are distanced in them but for the most part we were constantly moving in line.

Also, get to the park about an hour before it's official opening time if you can. They will start letting people into the park and you can get on rides. For instance we got to MK at 8:15 when it doesn't officially open until 9:00. Went straight to Mine Train and got on in about 5 minutes. Then went and did the same at Space Mountain (Tomorrowland was virtually empty). By the time we got to Haunted Mansion it was just turning 9:00.

Did the same thing the next day with Runaway Railway. The line was much longer but we were just about to go inside the building at 10:00 (the official opening time) when the line became a standstill as everyone tried to get a Rise boarding pass. We got lucky and got Group 10. Went straight into ride Runaway RR and by then they had called our boarding group.

I went with my family over Labor Day. Crowds were not as bad as they are full capacity, but wait times for the rides would be about the same. Even though there are less people in line, they socially distance everyone in the line, as well as on the ride. They do not fill up every seat on the rife. Masks are required at ALL TIMES unless you are sitting down and eating. Any other time and someone will tell you to put a mask on. All of the resorts on the monorail are fantastic, but the Contemporary is by far my favorite. Meal plan is a lot of money, but definitely worth it. You pay for all of your meals ahead of time, as well as additional snacks that you can cash in throughout your stay.
