We have 3 boys, 16,10,4 years old. Looking for somewhere to go that's not the beach, Thinking mountains. Went to Chattanooga last year and enjoyed it. Looking for suggestions for 4 days.

Don't mind a trip of about 12-18 hrs driving. Can break the trip up

Boone NC. Skiing at Sugar Mountain or App Mountain. Will be crowded for new years, but App Mountain is a good place to learn if you have never been there.

Have you ever been to Sandrock in northern Alabama? It’s a great place to car camp, hike, and climb around. Research it. You have to bring EVERYTHING you want, but it makes for a couple cool days. Super chill and you can explore the caves at night.

Yeah I wouldn't over think it OP. Plenty of great spots in Arkansas, Texas, Central Tennessee, East Tennessee, North Georgia, etc.

It doesn't have to be a well known place to have a great time.

The kids would hate that. I did when I was a kid. Love it now.
