I still feel like movable armrests are not a known thing to the flying public. I would say less than 1 in 10 fliers uses them, despite the fact that their impact is almost miraculous.

Why do you think this is?

I've even taken to surreptitiously raising other people's for them when they don't know it.

ETA: ONLY THE AISLE-SIDE ARMREST!!!

I put the arm rest down. Helps keep people in their seat and sets their room versus mine

why would you raise the armrest between you and a stranger? That’s the boundary

without boundaries society can collapse

I cannot think of a scenario where I would lift the armrest next to a stranger.

Sorry, I think I wasn't clear: I'm only referring to the aisle side armrest.

What kind of psychopath would move the one line of demarcation between himself and a total stranger on a flight?

The best are bulkhead and the full panel separators between the seats... Keeps the fatties inside their own area.

I’ve had some biggies get mad and try to raise it. I just say sorry but I need it down. The worst is when their rolls roll over and then you have to ask them to move over

Guys, I'm talking about if you are in the aisle seat, the movable armrest between you and the aisle.

Lifting it makes it infinitely easier for everyone to get in and out of the row. If you are in the aisle seat, you can even still get up while you tray is down and loaded with food and beverages.

I would never in a million years lift the interior armrests if it was non-family members.

I flew first class last week. Sat on the aisle. The armrest was not moveable.

I'm aware of the moving aisle armrest but I rarely use it because it's rare I ever need to. I just wish the window armrest would do the same

I sit in the aisle seat every time based on this very hack.

Love sprawling out in the aisle when the beverage card is not coming

I get sick twisted pleasure watching other people trying to figure out how I got my arm rest up
