Google flights. Set starting origination point, destination (if you have one), and dates (can also leave this open/flexible)

I like Kayak. Hopper. Great apps. Also use Google Flights a lot. Helpful in setting up searches where you get alerts on price changes.

I use [link=(matrix.itasoftware.com)]matrix.itasoftware.com[/link]. It is powered by google.
I do not like the google flights layout.

I think Google bought the matrix ita site/backend.

They did, but the options are different on ITA matrix than they are on Google Flights. It's worth trying both. Travel dorks I think prefer the ITA presentation and options, but normal people probably do better with Google Flights.
OP, always, always, always, search in private mode until you figure out which flights you want on what days, and are ready to pull the trigger, now.

I don't ever use third party sites to book air travel anymore.
I'm pretty sure the only way to score any sort of discount airfare these days is directly through the airline if they're offering a sale.
Sites like Kayak are only going to kick in a fee and make things more complicated as a middleman.
