Married couple, 21 yo daughter and 15yo son

Downtown area cool as
Well.

No clue if it’s the best, but check out Terranea

I was going to say The Montage but that last sentence ruined that idea. It’s at least double that nightly price.
Dana Point has The Waldorf Astoria and Ritz Carlton and it’s very close to Laguna, but they may be close to the same price range as the Montage. Check them out to be sure.
Laguna Cliffs Marriott is another great option in Dana Point and is probably spot on in your price range.

All of these are great recommendations. L'Auberge in Del Mar is also very nice and centrally located in downtown Del Mar with easy access to Torrey Pines Beach and Torrey Pines State Park,

Somewhere in San Clemente. Best town in between both cities

Won a contest to play a round of golf there a couple of years ago with the Lakers radio play by play announcer. Was a blast and the place is top notch. The staff was super accommodating and the property was immaculate. I’d def go back there if I could afford it lol.
