Yeah unless you know residents or are content with bars at the Cloister, it's not lively. What liveliness there is is pretty family oriented.

I'm in my mid 30s but I've been over nightlife on guys trips for many years. I'll go occasionally with the wife if we are at a wedding or out of town or something. But guys trips looking to pick up chicks always cause major issues. One guy shacks up and gets lost then shows up late for the fishing boat or at hole 5 on the course or something.
But with guys, its usually beers starting at or before lunch, day time activities, then dinner and a dive bar. Usually drinking is based on an activity like golf, fishing, camping, sitting around a fire, etc.
Maybe if the majority of the guys are still single. But my last couple guys trips have been generally dive bars, some music maybe, then back to the crib fairly early and depending on the following days plans maybe debauchery there.
I also much prefer guys trips based on doing things you wouldn't with the wife and family. Go to places you otherwise would not visit.

Charleston, SC.
Good fishing
Great golf courses
Plenty of good bars downtown and on the out skirts
Folly beach is a short drive

Not sure how the fishing is but Bandon is close. Best public golf in the world maybe. Skiing Mt Hood in June is a blast.

It's a 4 hour drive 1 way.
Pumpkin Ridge is 20 min which used to be the states best course before Bandon.
Eta....I would go to Tampa that time of year.
Golf, fishing, and nightlife all within close proximity of where they stay.

Great things aren't easy.
Plus I love that part of Oregon,
actually love all of Oregon.

Thinking about this more, I'm going to put my bias glasses on and push Madison.
Your group is into fishing, golf and bars.
1. Wisconsin has over 15,000 lakes and Madison is located on an isthmus between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona.
2. Though you may need to drive 1-2 hours, Erin Hills, Whistling Straits, Blackwolf Run, etc., are all within two hours driving.
3. Madison is home to the University of Wisconsin and always among the most-recognized college "towns" in the country. I put town in quotation marks because it's a city of 250K. Plenty of bars along State Street and Capitol Square.
4. October is, generally, mild, but September is a great time to visit Wisconsin. Any LSU fans that made the trip to Green Bay in 2016 can attest.

Madison was awesome went I went in October, but it was for homecoming weekend and super busy (but fun!). A little colder than normal but otherwise still great.
Good bars/restaurants, lots of parks in the city for the outdoors.

Cabo is his best option for golf, fishing, and bar scene. October is a great time to visit too. I can’t believe I’m the only one to recommend it

I'll second that. Badass place to party, as well as fish. For a big group of guys you could get a nice 52' for the day and even bring some entertainment onboard. That's what i'd pick.
