Looks like we are about to get back to normal with work. Which means I'll be traveling back and forth from the east coast frequently. Is the flying experience ( flights, airports, air port restaurants, sky clubs etc.) operating normally enough for it not to be a pain in the arse? My other option is driving everywhere, which I would rather not do. I haven't flown since the first of March when the shite hit the fan...

I bought tickets to Denver last week. My butt will be on a plane in a few weeks. I hope.

Shreveport to Austin in 2 weeks.

DaBigFella sent me a pic of him on a plane over the weekend. It was slammed.

That tends to happen when capacity has been cut by over 90%

I've written off trying to fly this summer anywhere. Will fly home for Halloween and hopefully Japan will let me in the country/my flights will still happen over Thanksgiving.

Looks like Denver for sure for 4th of July weekend heading to Grand Lake with whole family. Have flights booked to Scottsdale for Labor Day weekend for a probable bachelor party, flights to Vegas for the Saints game that I'm 90% sure I'll cancel. Looking at maybe Cancun the weekend of the Vegas Saints game if not

That's a lot once I type it all out

I’m also heading to Denver on July 4th weekend. Flights there were CHEAP out of Shreveport.

I wish. Had Delta booked MSY-SLC-PDX both ways for me my wife and infant in arms and they changed it to:

MSY-ATL-SLC-PDX
and
PDX-SEA-DTW-ATL-MSY

A funny wrinkle to the return flight is that the SEA-DTW flight lands 6 hours after the ATL-MSY flight we are currently booked on is scheduled to depart.

They never even sent us an email or anything letting us know. Not booking anything with any confidence anytime soon with any carrier that has a contract of carriage that doesn’t refund in cash for situations like this. Flying solo and flexible obv different.

I'm flying on Southwest to Reno (Lake Tahoe) on June 23-28 from Hobby. In January it was 28,000 miles, then in March it dropped to 18,000 miles, and I changed it again last week to 8500. American went from $450 in January to $307 while United went from $450 to $1300+ now.

United is very very expensive, they cut their schedules almost too much so all thats left is the unrestricted fares aka $$$$. Delta cut their schedules so much that many connections are no longer valid, hence up to 9 hr waits on their phone line. American has a decent schedule still but the most uncertainty about their future

How long did it take to get to the gate with all the new procedures? Did they require masks? People wearing them or?

Curious what all's changed.

I was scheduled to go MSY-MSP-SFO on Delta Sunday. Then LAX-MSY 6 days later.

It has been changed to MSY-ATL-MSP-SFO and LAX-SLC-ATL-MSY.

The ATL-MSP leg lands after the MSP-SFO leg takes off. Not looking forward to calling and getting it cancelled.

United changed my July 3rd flight from New Orleans -Denver-Jackson Hole to NO-Houston-Denver- Jackson Hole and it wont let me select my seat for the Houston-Denver leg of the trip.

I called and called and called to finally get a call back time and they said 9 hours. That was at 6:15PM. Got a call back at 1:40 AM and canceled.

Masks required on all flights now I believe. Some airports as well. Denver requires them but noticed some people saying screw it.

So crazy. Since Jan 2014 I have logged over 1,000 flights. However I haven’t seen an airport since 3/10 and who knows when I will again.

I'll wait till at least July as things open up more and hopefully don't run into a 2nd wave.

I do have my Phoenix trip re-booked for Labor Day weekend and I'm hoping to see NOLA later this fall (was supposed to go next week).Asia is set up for late October, so I can hopefully go overseas.
