Looking at going this fall for LSU game. Wanting a good steak and Tony’s stands out to me. Any other recommendations on that front are welcome.
Def going to do Keanland. Should I try that Friday or game day? Do they usually race on UK football game days?
Prob do Bourbon tour one of days. Any tour guides better than others?
I think that’s all. I’m def open to any other options I haven’t mentioned and or any other tips on general. Thanks in advance.

Keanland is a definite. If you happen to be placed in a private box, don't take off your sport coat, even if you're sweating balls. The garçon will call your arse out.

Buffalo Trace, Woodford, Castle & Key and four roses are all not far. That is the order I would go if only choosing 1 or 2. Do it during a weekday if you can.

yes they do wed-sunday typically
they havent released the fall meet calendar (they just released the spring calendar for April this week). it may start oct 1 or oct 8. no way to know for sure yet, but they are allowing spectators to some capacity tbd.

I like Malone's for dinner. Jeff Ruby's is also a good spot.
Keenland runs 5 days a week for only three weeks in October. Schedule not out yet. But this is a must if the horses are running.
I would do Woodford and then Castle and Key. Buffalo Trace is nice but very large and corporate.

Maybe he was wrong but Jimmy Ott was on his radio show saying Keanland is set to open 10-7 or 10-8. And he was happy bc our game is scheduled for 10-9. I hope he’s right.

For distilleries, you have Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey, Four Roses, and Woodford Reserve all near Lexington. There are a handful or so of smaller ones. I would definitely plan on going to Woodford. The drive out to it in the fall is absolutely gorgeous. Of those 4, they're all pretty good, but if you had to skip one I'd skip Wild Turkey. Unless you're just a big Wild Turkey fan.

I'm not at all familiar with Keeneland. In fact I just learned how to spell it correctly while googling it to write this post. You say if happened to be placed in a private box. Do they randomly place people there, or is it a ticket you have to buy? And is it a dressy event when people go to the horse races? I wasn't thinking sports coat but if that's how it is then it's def good to know ahead of time. If covid crap dies down I would love to make this trip.

Yes, certain areas of Keeneland have a dress code. I've only been once and was in the general admission area, and a lot of guys were still wearing sports coats and blazers. It was a chilly day though. I wore a sweater and didn't feel underdressed.

Definitely do Malone's for dinner, you won't regret it
