If you skip eating at Dicks Last Resort on the riverwalk, you don’t deserve the riverwalk.

Such good people watching there but you have to go in the Spring. It’s hot AF down there in the summer. The it doesn’t circulate in between those buildings surrounding the RW

Yeah but they have a food truck set up across the street while they rebuild the restaurant.. i’ve been there a couple times recently, the food tastes exactly the same.. probably one of the top 3 burgers i’ve had in my life.

I went a few years ago. I was really pumped up for the river walk. When I got there it was a huge let down. Dirty arse water and it stunk. Looked like Bourbon st with a sewage canal running down the middle.

Yup, exactly like Bourbon. There’s strip clubs galore, trash on the sidewalks, drunks everywhere, and you may get shot.

Geez...if you think it’s anything resembling Bourbon, then you have some problems.

The water isn’t crystal clear, but it’s probably going to be less polluted than any canal in NOLA.

Freetail brewery has games, that’s kinda kid friendly.

Go to Oasis Mexican Cafe for breakfast tacos. Delicious!

Besides that, Pearl Brewery is a cool spot for the family to hang out. The zoo is nice too.

Yeah, keeping the water quality up is a challenge (they just capture a section of the river, the rest of the river can dry up). I haven't been there in over 40 years unfortunately. I went there on a landscape architecture west coast field trip in 1976, when Doc Reich was Head of the School of LA. Good times!
