Not sure if the folks on here are interested, but I'm currently in the middle of my 30th birthday trip to Tuscany with a side of Belgium. Chronicling everything on my website but figured I'd throw a few snippets and the itinerary out here to see if anyone is interested, if so, I'll post more of our adventures going forward!

Why spend time in the Air France lounge at jfk when you can go to TWA on a day pass?

I thought about going to the TWA but the Mrs. wanted to go into the city. I've also heard some not so great things about the TWA hotel recently.

Go to De Garre Bar when in Bruges. Get the house beer “De Garre Tripel”.

That should be a great trip but your planning and logistics are terrible lol. I'm all about not staying in the same place but going from Paris to Bruges to Paris to Italy is kinda crazy.

Italy is a huge country and there's quite a bit real close like Croatia, Switzerland, etc. I would have personally planned something closer where its just a short train ride away.

But hope you have a great trip!

We see so many overly ambitious itineraries on this board. It really amazes me. We're doing 5 stops in 16 days in Italy and I feel that I may be overdoing that but it's all northern Italy and we're traveling in a big circle so travel days are short.

I always discourage spending time in Brussels. In Belgium, Antwerp is more interesting. Other options are a trip to Amsterdam or the D-Day beaches.

Bruges is fun. Try to get to the Basilica of the Holy Blood and view the religious relic they put on display.

Have fun on your trip - we’re all jealous!

Agreed, it's the Detroit of Europe...

Resident Amsterdammer here, haven't called this city home for nine years for nothing. It's not without its issues, but it's a gorgeous city and vastly superior to Brussels by almost every metric.

My mom is visiting from the States so we're en route on the train from Amsterdam now.

Never been actually, have been to Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels but never Bruges.

Frankly speaking Belgium isn't my preferred country to visit, but I'm excited to see Bruges!

Was you who planned a veritable around the world honeymoon? If so - how did it go?

And itinerary looks great. Brussels has some charm, but agreed with others Antwerp and Brugge are better destinations. Brugge is one of those places I think you make the time to visit when you find yourself in close proximity. It’s worth seeing once.

Always open to recs but this is probably our 10th trip to Amsterdam in the last 15 years and usually for at least a week each time. Some people like to lay on a beach, we like to ride bikes around Amsterdam.

The only reason we went to Brussels was because it was where I could find business class award availability on Air France. Was easy to do a day trip to Bruges as well. Flew direct from Brussels to Rome and then spent a week exploring small towns in Tuscany from our base in Cortona.

Didn't spend any time in Paris other than in the airport. Air France offers an Air & Rail connection from the plane to the train station at CDG since they are cutting those shorter flights.

We're going the Black Forest in Germany, Lake Como, and Zurich in a couple of months, we like to move around

That was me! It went well, we both agreed that the Maldives was fun but we have no real reason to go back. Really enjoyed Amsterdam and Santorini and will visit both again. Athens sucked but we knew this going in, it was just a stopover for our flight home and we saw everything we needed to in an afternoon.

Here's the full writeup on our Honeymoon trip

So how do you go about looking for "your deals"? Do you use sites like "Points Guy" or?

Great stuff BTW.
