I probably won't get my first turns in until mid-December as well. Got a couple Loveland 4-packs, I imagine I'll break the legs in for the season there.

Glad to see some of the CO and UT folks about to get some laps in!

‘Bomb cyclone’, ‘atmospheric river’ and ‘bombogenesis’ are relatively new terms to me.

Yadda, yadda, yadda the PNW is getting close to blizzard conditions in many areas of Central Oregon.

Ten more consecutive days of snowfall have been forecasted for this area.

Call your friends in Oregon and tell them you’re coming for Christmas.

Hell yeah. I hope some of that makes its way east.

Stay safe out there. Some of the estimates I've seen for NorCal are insane.

I’m living in Stowe. I’ll post some recs when i have a little more time.

There’s plenty of shops and restaurants to keep the wives busy for a few days.

Yeah, I know it's dumb. This was going to be my one and only opening day. Just to say I did it. Probably won't go again until mid-December.

Bomb cyclone continues to throttle the PNW.

Another 14” overnight.

Bachelor snow stake gets cleared every 24 hours.

We open back up on Friday. This weekend should be legendary. The mountain will be crowded but employees get priority loading.

I may or may not have booked a trip to a giant volcano in Oregon to go skiing in february 2/6-2/9... I'll come find you while I'm there

For early/mid December skiing, looks like there is a giant ridge that's about to show up and limit the storm productivity. When does the ridge go away? Still debating between skiing WA or going all the way up to Alaska week before Christmas

Holy hell, that’s killer! I’m psyched to meet you.

I’m not sure about this ridge effect, I’ll inquire within and try to have an answer for you.

Going to BC in Mid-December, hopefully the ridge breaks down by then but the warming trend has me concerned. Rain can mess up some of these lower elevation resorts.

Its not a -PNA or anything fun, but I dont hate that ridge location in CO. Wont yield any blockbusters, but I'll take NW flow. Just gotta wait for shortwaves to ride down the side of the ridge for a little lift.

Better than being tucked under the base in the PNW

CO is about to get blasted in a few days, so at least you have that regardless of what the ridge brings. Plus you have elevation to preserve all of that snow combined with a weak sun angle.

Got a few runs in yesterday at Solitude. It will go down as one of my most memorable days on a mountain. My 4 year old’s first time skiing and he absolutely crushed the bunny hill. And enjoyed it the whole time, even when he fell. I couldn’t be prouder.

4 year old’s first time skiing

I believe my life would have followed a drastically different path if I had first skied at that young of an age.

My first time was Jan 2006 at the age of 33. I ended up getting HAPE (high altitude pulmonary edema) and had to be on oxygen for the last 4 days of a 7 day trip.

Despite this, I fell in love with skiing and have skied every year since except once. Two week trip in Jan-Feb can't get here soon enough.

Snow stake cam in Breck looks to be showing around 18+ in the last 24 hours.
