Coming down from the tunnels in full traffic with active snow will make a southerner’s (like me) guts bubble. 7 miles down.
If there’s no traffic it’s not that bad, put it in low gear and stay off the brakes as much as possible. It’s the stop and go that sucks, and the dude in the Denali XL driving down the snow covered shoulder doing 80 while everyone else is carefully crawling at 40.

Saw one back in the 90’s. All good.

Today was Lift Ops uniform fitting day for me.
Liftys will be issued blue tops though.
I guess I’m a ski bum now.
Patrons of TD, look for the dude with the badge that reads ‘Baton Rouge LA’ this season at Bachelor.
Employee badges reflect our hometowns.

Nice. When I retire I want to be one of those old dudes that stands at the top of the lift answering questions. My dream job

47 and yeah I’m not answering questions.
Just gonna hype up the crowd.
Give the people what they want.

Anyone here interested in saving one mountain beer's worth of month and doing the OpenSnow group plan?

Are you only interested in Joel's site for Colorado?

Snow tires are really everything. With a good set you can drive stupidly fast.

Why do you guys that live somewhere with no mountains pay for Open Snow? It isnt like you are going to take off work the next day to fly up to ski a powder day then fly home.

Interesting. My Jeep has yet to come across a storm it couldn’t handle in the last 6 years. If the road is open, it’s making it.
Of course experience counts for a lot.

Copper pulled down 20" last night. We're gonna open Friday.
Also, welcome to the ski industry baw.

Give me good snow tires and AWD (you hate to come to a stop on 70 and your FWD cant get ya moving again) and I'll get that vehicle there unless its literally impassible.

I ALWAYS rent an AWD when I head to Summit county for this very reason.

I really like opensnow. I normally dont pay for forecasts, bc I can generally do that shite myself, but its a bear to learn the geography and the little details of snow storms out here.
Opensnow has really helped me learn that stuff and their forecasts are pretty damn good.

Dayyyyum. And I was excited about the 7" Snowbasin got

20" is a hell of an anomaly at Copper. Though second time this calendar year we hit 20"+. Rest of Summit CO didnt do quite that well.
I woulda been happy with 7", but that last night promises extra terrain open by Thanksgiving.

Breck did well also, plus another healthy round of snow coming this week.

Seth’s Weather Report Facebook page is great for Colorado weather forecasts. He posts a lot, multiple times a day, and is spot on. Also very educational for anyone interested in learning more about weather. He actually lives in our same neighborhood a couple blocks away from us in Westminster. His FB page/group has over 56k followers.
