is out and Whistler and Stowe (thanks Vail resorts) were replaced with Snowbasin, UT and Sugarbush, VT

Early bird special is $399 and a 3rd day at the resort of your choice. For next year I am buying the MC and A-Basin passes and not messing with RMSP or Epic

bamafan, I'll text you when I get in town tomorrow. Conditions don't look great and I would rather be climbing in the Utah desert, but we shall make the best of it

Just saw that and a kids pass for a $1 with 50% additional single day tickets. It has several places on my bucket list so I will definitely have to consider it.

RMSP just sent me an email for next season and it comes again with a free kids pass which helps me out a lot. Will be a tough decision between the two, spend more money for new places or save a little for places I've had fun at before.

A bit blustery on the hike up to East Wall. Video above. Turn speakers down a little because the wind is loud as f.

One of those snowboarders up top lost his board off the back side of East Wall we later found out in the parking lot. Didn't know them but ran into them later. It went down ~300ft he said. Had to walk down rocks and then boot pack back up the backside face.

Skiing was amazing. My new skis are absolutely awesome. I love them. True love.

As the ski patroller said, "firm but edgeable". Everywhere else was nice and soft. Cream cheese in Montezuma was fun. It was never too icy where I ski'd. Wind was the major factor.

East Wall is such a cool spot at A Basin. Climbing up there in the wind was butt puckering though. I was holding on to my skis for dear life.

One of my roommates had already turned around. The skier with me just learned to ski this November in Steamboat. Pretty impressed and stoked he ski'd it with me. Been fun to watch him progress from being frustrated the first few days to yesterday.

Skied Breck Thurs, Vail Fri, and Keystone on Sat. Beautiful blue skies and warm all three days. Snow was a little crunchy in the morning and a combo of Icy/slushy in spots in the afternoon. Snowed Sunday morning when I was leaving. I think the ratio in Breck was ab 60/1 guys for every girl and ab 100/1 every guy for single girl lol. Still had a great trip. Can't beat just being in the mountains

We're going to have 2 groups of guests flying in tomorrow staying at the house for a Spring ski trip. Supposed to be around 50 degrees all weekend lol. Oh well, afternoons are for patio drinking, right? Probably hit Breck Friday mid-morning and ABasin beach Saturday mid-morning. Time to start working on that tan. We'll have to time it right to get the best snow conditions in the right spots before it gets slushy and sticky.

Are you the same poster who used to post in the MSB betting threads? What sort of job are you working in the mountains with a turf management degree?

That's me. I'm the assistant superintendent on a new private 9 hole course built last year here in Steamboat Springs.

It's only seasonal for me right now, so I work for a ski shop, Ski Butlers, in the winter. I'm not getting rich by any means, but I wouldn't trade where I am. And the golf course job is about as close to a perfect dream job for me as you can get.

Steamboat has its hooks in me. As much as I love skiing, I'm absolutely stoked for spring and summer to arrive. People always say "come for winter, stay for summer" about living in the mountains.

Nice, congrats

I'm hoping to land a job in Denver or SLC for similar reasons; I love that area of the country.

Have a 3rd interview for a SLC job tomorrow... fingers crossed.

ETA: although I'd rather be in Denver.

Redeeming qualities for SLC:

1) Mt. Solitude hike is literally right on top of the city.

2) Park City is even closer to say Winter Park or Breck is to Denver.

I agree. SLC has some awesome features.

The Wasatch Range is absolutely amazing. The powder skiing in Little and Big Cottonwood Canyon is unparalleled. Closer than the I70 resorts from Denver. They say best snow on earth for a reason.

Not to mention the parks within a quick trip from SLC. Utah has such diverse landscape. Amazing features.

Life out West is awesome. I see something that stops me in my tracks everyday. I was driving out to the golf course yesterday and had to turn around to check out this Bald Eagle on a power pole. It was molting so had weird coloring going on. I'll post some pics later.

Read it got up to 72 today in Steamboat...this winter has been crazy this year with the wild swings from Mother Nature. We fly into Denver next Sunday for a week at Winter Park and just praying those storms Joel is hinting at come to fruition. Can't remember a winter in recent memory that had so many wide swings in conditions throughout the season.
