Just made a lap up to Steamboats hike-to-terrain. Like a different resort up there. Some awesome chutes and cliffs. Deep powder since they just opened it today.

Bluebird skies. No crowds. Paradise.

I love that terrain, until it gets towards the bottom and starts to flatten out leaving you pushing.

For sure. Worth it though. Absolute deepness out there right now. Groomers are skiing just as great too. Awesome snow everywhere.

Finally made it steamboat last night after our Saturday flight was cancelled. You are right, everything is skiing great today and love the sunshine. Stopped for lunch right now at thunderhead. Enjoy the hike to stuff for me, I got little man with me today so can't venture into that stuff. At least he is picking mostly blue runs and not some miserable green cat track. A few have had some nice side hits

No blue skies here today. Just endless snow for days.

Great ski conditions tho!

Well my 7 year old surprised me and dictated we go through some trees off a few blue runs and we found some fun leftovers. Bad part was having to get him out a couple times as he fully doesn't understand picking a line yet, he is used to tree runs at Park City or Beaver Creek that are designed for kids. Overall was a great first day and got dinner at Backdoor grill which was great and then crashed early.

PNW- where is that from?

Driving from BR to Breckenridge for the first time in a couple of weeks.
Stopping in Amarillo for a night the finishing the drive in the morning.

Any tips that I should know about before taking off?

(Sorry if this question has been posted already... really didn't feel like digging through 14 pages)

If you drive a 2 wheel drive truck you won't have a good time if the roads are bad

Leave Amarillo at first light. Allow yourself plenty of daylight for the Colorado leg of your trip.

If a storm is hitting that day, check to make sure Hoosier Pass is open before you head west from Colorado Springs. That would suck to get all the way to Alma and have to turn around to go all the way around on I-70.

Wouldn't it be a good idea for a first-timer to avoid Hoosier Pass and go up to Denver then west on 70? Not sure what level of experience he has in the mountains in winter.

Hoosier is gnarly but 70 is a cluster frick. Pick your poison.

Zero experience.
Looks like i'm taking 70.
(Would much rather be on the safer side as opposed to hopefully getting there quicker)

Drive from Amarillo to Raton, NM, that's where you'll pick up 25 north.

Also when you approach south burbs of Denver, take the 470 loop around the SW quarter of the city to connect with I-70 by Golden. It'll save you a lot of time vs driving up through the heart of the city to catch Hwy 6 west to 70.
