i was told by my MIS group it could take a few hours so i left for the day (i was dead in the water) and the next day when i got to work it was updated.

my screen said 'do not turn off your computer' though so i was worried about messing something up by killing the power.

My last big Win update took most of the day, and after it was done and I restarted the machine, it was AWOL another hour.

I just the other day bricked an old Dell.

MS update was taking forever and had Dell BIOS update too. Middle of the BIOS flash MS restart kicked in before I could even move the mouse to stop it.

And so boys and girls… The moral of the story is don’t start the update until you’re ready to go to bed…
