we are getting rid of cable, will be need an antenna for local broadcast in New Orleans or can we stream them via smart tv/roku?

If we need antennas, any recommendations, we live a mile from the river/CBD?

AT&T fiber internet in now available in our neighborhood any previous experiences? Our Cox internet isn't reliable.

TIA

turn your tv on, go to antenna for input, and see if it picks up any stations. if no, then you'll need an antenna

Depends on the service you go with. Some have locals and others don't. It is easier to have all channels on one app but those services typically cost more. Expect to pay around $70 a month without premium channels.

My ATT Fiber didn't even go down during/after Ida (as long as I powered it with my UPS).

We have att fiber and YouTube tv, it’s great. No issues whatsoever in the 4 months I’ve had it.

YouTube Tv has all the local stations as well

You’ll need an antenna for local channels. I just grabbed one of the stronger ones from Target and installed it in my attic. I then ran it to a booster and used my existing coax lines from my old Cox connection to connect all my tvs.

This is the one I bought from Amazon. If you search around, you chicks be able to find one in the $50-70 range

Get Hulu + Live TV. It's about half the price of the average Cox channel package and will carry your local market channels.

We ditched Cox a few years back for this, the only problems were I had crappy Rokus (had to spring for the Ultra as the others kept overheating even though they aren't in an enclosed area) and getting used to not thinking of stations by channel numbers.

You should get a digital antenna for your TV regardless of your service provider. It will work when your internet is down. We ditched Cox for ATT also, and we love it (they are much more reliable than Cox). I use Fubo TV for my channels. It has the local channels, SEC network, Hallmark for my wife and it is easy to use (unlike YouTube TV which is cheaper).

I recommend checking out the AtennaGuy on youtube. He sells a great one for around 50-70 I think?

Be sure to face it in the best direction. There are apps to determine this. I don't recommend the cheaper flimsy paper thin ones.
