Why doesn’t TD host its own image uploads?

It’s such a pain in the arse to go somewhere else upload an image copy of stuff bring it back here paste it into the image.
A simple upload button would be awesome.
Modern web capabilities make it extremely easy and cheap AF.

Yeah, the repeated postings of the same memes, babe threads, etc. would bankrupt Chicken.
All so you can avoid this terrorizing gauntlet:
quote:
Steps:
1) go to “ Postimages.org and click “choose images”
2) choose your saved photo from “photo library” and let it upload (takes 2 seconds).
3) copy the link on “direct link.”
4) come to your post and click “img” under markup next to the emojis.
5) paste the direct link on that and submit.
6) preview post to make sure it works and you are good to go.

A terabyte of images is $6 per month.

Maybe with that premium subscription, you'll get platinum access to do it.

Its certainly doable, but its not just some layup low hanging fruit unlock. You have to build and maintain the infrastructure for storing/hosting images, again not super complicated but it is something else that needs to be done/maintained. Also, now you are responsible for these dumbass images posted here...forever. Every old thread with a missing image is proof that some service thought hosting images was a good idea and later failed. So, I can see why TD doesn't want to mess with it.

Thank you for writing out everything that was in my head. Storage costs aren't that cheap for me for SMB Glacier storage.
