Google Workspace for the win. Google meet is faster and delivers better audio and video quality.
Not sure why companies stick with Microsoft after all their hacks.

I freaking love it (coming from a company who didn’t use it to one who does). I’m just a few months in though, so that may all change.

I hate the fact that management doesn't want anyone to work from home. So we all go the office and sit at our computers for TEAMS meetings. Like if we're all here, why are we not meeting F2F?

Teams absolutely sucks
GoToMeeting and Zoom are way better

I log out of teams and tell people to email me. It’s garbage. All those text chats are also recorded and people are too casual in those chats; could see that coming back to bite some folks

I'm starting to hate it but mainly because I can see when my coworkers are IDLE or simply away/offline. Sometimes when I see a coworker idle for like 3 hours, I wonder if I can incorporate their salary into mine.
Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.

to be fair, i use three monitors and when the one that my teams is on is just Teams, i go idle..even if i'm set to busy or actually busy

The old teams sucked. The "new experience" is a nut filled turd filled with bugs.

That's because Teams goes idle when there's no interaction with the Teams app itself, not when there's no computer interaction. It's a common misconception that going idle means you're not working. It's a terrible metric to try to use to measure productivity.

I dunno, mine seems to stay "active" even when minimized or in a background window. However, I have 1 large arse monitor and just use the Windows embedded "split" window mode basically mimicking 2 monitors.
I *think* it may do what you're explaining if you have multiple monitors though.

I'm not measuring or really tracking anyone's productivity except just a mental note for this one particular person. Sometimes you just know when a co worker states that they've logged on at 6am daily and then they don't actually get any tasks done until 11, that they're lying and scamming the telework system.
This is further backed up when we do go into the office 1x a week, Teams shows said person as Idle and then they're MIA from they're workstation.
If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and goes idle like a duck...

Don't hate Teams...but do hate their latest update where the TEAMS Chat was changed.

Seriously why can’t I open a file and a chat at the same time? Such a clunky tool.
Change your default file open option.

Whoops.
Perhaps companies should put more effort into running open, modifiable, non-proprietary systems.
Especially ones that don't force auto-updates.
