I have ubiquiti. I'm not too happy about it only because I'm a cheap arse. And haven't added more cameras because of cost.

Reolink seems like it might be the way to go.

If you want cheap and want to stay only in the reolink ecosystem, sure.

If you want good quality cameras and to control your shite, choose Amcrest or similar quality POE cameras and use Blue Iris on your own server.

Is this the point in the thread where Korkstand posts Rob from the Hookup security cam video?

I have Reolink, Amcrest, and Annke cameras, and I have been slowly replacing the Reolinks with Amcrests. Annke (Dahua) has been steady for 2+years.

I have not dabbled with anything ubiquiti.

I'm going with the 4 reolink cameras+nvr bundle on sale at Amazon for 339 and adding the poe reolink doorbell which is on sale for 75 dollars.

That should be a good start I think.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Just not quite ready to jump into armcrest and having to also purchase blue iris on top since their app seems a little lame.

This is going to be such a step up in terms of quality and usability from ring. Don't ever want to pay $10/mo again to be able to review my video footage.

I think you'll be happy with that setup. I predict that you'll fill up the empty POE slots on the NVR in no time.

One suggestion I'd make is to add one of their PTZ cameras to the mix. We've found ours to be super useful and the kid loves panning and zooming in on things in the yard/neighborhood. Also, Reolink has standalone POE floodlights that can be triggered by motion alerts on other cameras. For example, the doorbell detects a person at the front door. This triggers the POE floodlights on the front of the house to illuminate. That seems like a very useful feature to me.

My nine EZVIZ C8W Pros have been awesome. Wired power/WiFi or POE your choice. Awesome inexpensive camera loaded with features and a great app with no subscription if you just want microSD recording. They have AI tracking for movement by humans or vehicles, spotlights and more. I'm using mine as WiFi and they are really reliable with my mesh network. I rarely look at my Reolink, Wyze V3, or Arlo cams any more as my EZVIZ app is superior along with these cams. Also have two EZVIZ DB1C doorbell cams and some indoor EZVIZ cams that I only set up when on vacation.
