MCX's payment service requires only a software download and can be used on existing iPhones and Android devices, whereas Apple's is only for the latest generation handset.

So how exactly does this work then? If you have to have te chip/connection, how the hell does my iPhone pre-6 make that connection? Bluetooth?

Best Buy doesn't mean much, but Walmart is pretty big. Having them on board would mean swift adoption by many other retailers.

My guess is a QR code or something like LevelUp.

Well, I'm thinking most 6 buyers aren't exactly going to be racing to Wallyworld to slum with the poors anyway...

No one knows their target market better than Walmart.

Gman is like Peej. Everything he says is the opposite of reality.

No shite. I needed a certain 4 GB thumb drive the other day that showed itself as a removable drive and apparently because of some windows 8 requirement they are hard to find these days. I could have gotten on off amazon prime no problem for like $3, but since I needed it that day i went to best buy. I ended up having to buy a 64 GB drive for $40 because that's the only one that they had that was compliant. fricking aggravating.

It's a tough job--but somebody's got to do it.

Like your new sig.
ETA: it's probably only matter of time for Best Buy. Their sales continue to decline. People go there to window shop. Find what they like, then go home and order it off the internet to save a few bucks.

Or you price match and use coupons. I have purchased a fridge and TV recently from Best Buy for much cheaper than anywhere online.

Yeah. I know they price match, but how long can they sustain that business model with the overhead they have that the internet retailers don't?

Personally I hope they do make it. It'd suck if they went down the tubes like CompUSA and Circuit City did. There'd basically be nobody left but Walmart

Most of the iPhone users I see nowadays are your typical ghetto trash so I'd venture to say a lot.
